great experience

So worth it. We were fortunate to have Tomas as our guide. A biologist who works for Pira tours, his knowledge and love of the environment were contagious. He brought a great sense of humour along as well.

Mortillo Island with Fabrizio is a MUST!

The Beagel Channel Tour was a bit of a tourist mass-activity. Drive to take a pic and move on. They also skipped 2 things that where announced as a maybe. The highlight and worth every dollar was the trip to Mortillo Island to meet the Penguins. The drive is long but so worth it and our guide Fabrizio made it an easy one as he provided lots of knowledges paired with some jokes in Spanish and English. We learned a lot and came very close (not too close of course) to the penguins in their natural habitat. It was a once in a lifetime experience and I highly recommend!

Penguins!

Great experience, and so cool to see all of the penguins up close. Guides were great, and the boat trip to the lighthouse, sea lions, and cormorant colonies was a nice bonus. Highly recommend, if you want to see the penguins up close.

Totally worth to walk among the penguins

The walk on Isla Martillo is totally worth it. We saw some boats get really close to the shore and thought that the walk might have been a waste, but eventually you start going a little deeper into the island and the nesting area. At moments you literally have to stop in order to let penguins cross the path right in front of you. You get to see much more than from the boat. The guides are knowledgeable. The museum is a good stop too. The ride there is not too long and is comfortable. Out boat ride to Beagle Channel got rescheduled due to weather conditions and the tour operator offered either a refund or the ride in another day, which we did. Very nice too, we managed to see the sea lions, birds, and even some whales showed up.

Great excursion

Wonderful tour, you see penguins so close! We liked the enthusiasm of the guides. The second part was a bit less interesting, but overall it was great, highly recommend.

Must Do penguin experience in Ushuaia

We are a family of 6. The checkin was smooth at the Port. The bus ride was comfortable. The museum tour was very informative. The short boat ride to the island was a nice. The penguins literally came to the boat to greet us when we arrived. The experience of being there for one hour just 20 of us on the whole island was surreal. We have never been so close to Penguins. Unbelievable, excellent guide very informative. The alcohol experience was fantastic.

Priceless experience with Penguins

There was not even a pickup but we had to get to the Pira Tour office by 6:30 on a blustery morning. After that we had a bus ride of about 90 minutes which was no fun either. But then we got to the Penguins. Initially I felt an hour would hardly be sufficient but our host Augustine did a fantastic job expertly walking us through their habitat. It was a truly priceless experience! Well worth its high price tag. I never imagined I would be up this close to so many penguins. It was an unforgettable experience Few things - May be better to go be the boat than the bus. The Acatushun museum was not such a great stop for this tour The Beagle channel navigation was very nice but could be cut short by at least 30 minutes
