Itinerary

30 min

After a morning pickup from your hotel in Ushuaia (shared service), you’ll head to Tierra del Fuego National Park.

Admission not included360 min

About 7 miles away from the city, on the famous channel once sailed by Charles Darwin, we will get to Tierra del Fuego National Park (entrance fee not included).

180 min

During the summer season, we will walk along the coast or high pampa (we will hike one or another according to terrain and weather conditions, etc). For about 7 km (4.4 miles), spot the diverse flora and bird fauna of the Beagle Channel or the Fuegian forest, stop to contemplate the famous Beagle Channel on Ensenada Bay and enjoy beautiful views of Redonda, Hoste and Navarino islands as well as the remains of ancient Yámana settlements, natives of the area. During the winter season, you can decide to either walk along the wonderful Valley of Río Pipo or take the 'End of The World' train on a 1-hour long ride (Train ticket not included). The Shore Path remains closed during this season, so instead, we will continue by vehicle to Acigami Lake, Green Lagoon, Ovando River and Bahía Lapataia and take short hikes through the woods to discover its wonders, along paths normally covered with snow or ice.

180 min

After a 3-hour moderate hike (during summer), or an easy 2-hour hike (during winter), you’ll access Acigami Lake (also known as Roca Lake), and near to the border of Lapataia River, you’ll enjoy a comforting hot lunch with a great panoramic view from inside a heated dome-tent, to avoid wind or rain. Afterwards, all participants will be equipped. Start your exciting 1-hour paddle journey from the Acigami Lake down the freshwater of Lapataia river aboard inflatable canoes (duckies). Depending on the physical conditions of your group, you may reach the sea in Lapataia Bay (canoeing is subject to weather conditions).

45 min

At the end of the tour, you’ll be driven back to your hotel in Ushuaia. **Notes: The boats used are inflatable and they usually seat up to 9 people plus the guide. Schedules are estimated and may vary due to bad weather. Duration of the summer tour: 7/10 hours, trekking: 3 hours. Winter tour: 6/8 hours, trekking: short treks of no more than 90 minutes total. Canoeing difficulty: low

Valentino was the best!

I am a little known and not famous tango dancer from the United States. Our Guiana Valentino had knowledge about flora, fauna, geographic, ecosystem and Tierra del Fuego. He was friendly and protected us from paparazzi. Face the park rangers and the Argentine army to give us the best experience! Excellent captain through freezing rain and unusual wind on a canola trip to Lapataia Bay! There is no better guide to the end of the world. I attest as surely as I speak only English! Long live Argentina! Long live the Americas! Thank you so much!

Operator response

Fun day trekking and paddling!

Fantastic day out. The trekking wasnt too strenous and the paddling was easy too, making it easy and enjoyable for all fitness levels. Be sure to pack waterproof clothes, because we got caught in the rain during the trekking and got soaked!! Our guide Berni made the day super enjoyable for everyone involved.

Operator response

Hi, Thank you for sharing your experience. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the balance between trekking and paddling and that the day felt accessible and fun. Patagonia’s weather can be unpredictable, so your tip about waterproof clothing is very helpful for future travelers. Great to know the guiding helped make it such an enjoyable outing. Warm regards

A spectacular park with the best guide

This park is absolutely pristine. The hiking is more like walking, and an easy pace for most people. You go through stunning forests, pass by bays, and canoe through channels. It was a great way to experience the national forest. The guide, Valentin, was one of the most charming and engaging we have met. He made the group feel connected and the day fun. We had a delicious lunch mid-day. We were there in March and felt like we had the park to ourselves.

Fun day with an excellent guide

Timely pickup from our hotel. Very nice hike through coastal trail at the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Hike was around 3.5 hours long. The vast majority is very light. The final segment is uphill with moderate difficulty. Hike was followed by delicious lunch in the company’s dome. After lunch we went rafting from the lake, down the river, and into Lapataia Bay. Our guide Facundo had excellent English and made the excursion a lot of fun. Recommended!

Perfect day

Great rafting, tasty lunch, nice trek through forest and along beaches. Our guide even completed the experience by producing coffee (and teas) at a break point on the trek.
