The Uffizi Gallery (Italian: Galleria degli Uffizi) is a prominent art museum located adjacent to the Piazza della Signoria in the Historic Centre of Florence in the region of Tuscany, Italy. One of the most important Italian museums and the most visited, it is also one of the largest and best known in the world and holds a collection of priceless works, particularly from the period of the Italian Renaissance. After the ruling house of Medici died out, their art collections were gifted to the city of Florence under the famous Patto di famiglia negotiated by Anna Maria Luisa, the last Medici heiress. The Uffizi is one of the first modern museums. The gallery had been open to visitors by request since the sixteenth century, and in 1765 it was officially opened to the public, formally becoming a museum in 1865. Today, the Uffizi is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Florence and one of the most visited art museums in the world.

This tour was great! The Uffizi is a must do tour. Having a guide is also a must. So much to see, so having a guide makes the most of it. Our guide, Rachael, is amazing! Very friendly, knowledgeable, & lively. We learned so much from her explanations of each of the artworks. Rachael ran the tour like a college class. Asking questions, answering our questions, and making sure we got the most from the tour. We loved her passion for the artwork and history of it. Grazie Rachael!
Excellent guide who provided us with a rich experience in a fantastic cultural environment. Amazing the art of this museum.
The tour was great but we had to wait 90 minutes to enter the Ufizi. Hardly "skip the line". Our guide did an excellent job filling the time with interesting tidbits about Florence so it wasn't terrible.
Tour with Rachelle itself was great- she's very informative and knowledgable.....but it was not a skip the line tour. Waited over an hour in line. Title of tour is deceptive
The tour is one of the best ways to see and understand the history of the Shroud of Turin from the time of its possession and protection by the Savoy family. Luisa, our tour guide, was informative and provided plenty of time to view where the Shroud of Turin was displayed until 1993. It was a truly memorable experience.
Dear Viator Customer Service center, I am writing to formally request an immediate resolution regarding a serious issue with my booking for the Uffizi Museum private tour on October 4th. I reserved a private tour scheduled for 4:00 PM that day through Viator. However, when The Green Tour contacted me for confirmation, they discovered that their system only received a booking for 10:00 AM, not the 4:00 PM slot I originally reserved. As a result, there was no tour guide available for the private tour in the afternoon. While The Green Tour has allowed us to use the already purchased admission tickets, they stated they cannot refund the tour guide fee because the payment was processed by Viator. They directed me to request the refund directly from Viator. This discrepancy and lack of service are unacceptable. Please prioritize handling my refund for the private tour guide part immediately. I expect a prompt confirmation of your process and timeline for the refund. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.
Absolutely worthwhile to have a guide and to buy tickets ahead. Renata was very knowledgeable in art history. Wear comfortable shoes. Marble floors are beautiful but hard.
This was our first time at the Uffizi Gallery, and our guide, Guido, made it unforgettable! We chose a short tour to fit our schedule, but he was so efficient and ensured we saw all the key highlights without ever feeling rushed. Guido was personable and charismatic, with an incredible depth of knowledge that brought every piece to life. The tour was both informative and immersive, he truly made it a memorable experience. Highly recommend!
On the day of the tour due to unexpected and unfortunate circumstances we could not attend the tour. We requested a refund and they refused but the reason I am leaving a one star review is not for that reason but what we found out later that day. On the first Sunday of every month the Uffizi is free to enter. Our tour, which was the first Sunday of the month, cost us more than $220 dollars which is the same value as it would be the following Tuesday, a day which is not free entry to the museum. This “experience” no matter what day is priced the same and the idea that they are capitalising on a day which is free for entry is ludicrous to me. I reached out to both Viator and to the organisers of the tour as we fell ill at the time of the tour and received a reply saying they were leaving the meeting point then. I followed up with them an hour later when I found out that the Uffizi was free for the day in question and both companies ghosted me. I am beyond disappointed and appalled. To charge us one of the ticket’s value to cover the guide I would’ve welcomed but the fact we are down $220+ on a day that was free entry to the museum when we couldn’t even make the tour is bizarre and unfair. I wish I could rate this experience lower. I would avoid using Viator as they originally corresponded to say they want to give the best customer service experience possible and then ghosted my emails since. Lastly, please know if you’re visiting the Uffizi the first Sunday of the month it is free entry!
Very informative and interesting!! Our tour guide was amazing and so insightful! We really appreciated her depth of knowledge.
