Itinerary

30 min

Nestled along the banks of the Trebišnjica River, Trebinje’s Old Town (Kastel) offers an authentic journey through history. Stroll through narrow cobblestone streets, explore ancient city walls, and admire Ottoman-era architecture. Visit landmarks like the Clock Tower and Osman Pasha Mosque, then unwind with local delicacies at charming cafés and restaurants. Experience the perfect blend of history, culture, and Mediterranean charm in the heart of Herzegovina!

Arslanagića Bridge in Trebinje is a 16th-century stone pedestrian bridge originally built by the Ottomans between 1568 and 1574. It was commissioned by Grand Vizier Mehmed Pasha Sokolović and later named after Arslan-aga, a local who managed the crossing. The bridge features elegant arches made of local stone and stretches about 92 meters across the Trebišnjica River. In the 1970s, it was carefully relocated stone by stone to its current location due to flooding from a nearby reservoir. Today, it stands as a stunning example of Ottoman architecture and a beloved cultural landmark, beautifully illuminated at night and ideal for scenic walks and photography.

30 min

Perched atop Crkvina Hill, overlooking the beautiful town of Trebinje, stands Herzegovinian Gračanica – a magnificent monastery built as a replica of the famous Gračanica Monastery in Kosovo. This spiritual and cultural sanctuary offers breathtaking panoramic views, while its fresco-adorned interior captivates every visitor. Within the complex lies the tomb of renowned poet Jovan Dučić, fulfilling his final wish to rest in this sacred place. Visit Herzegovinian Gračanica – a haven of peace, spirituality, and breathtaking beauty!

The town's history dates back to the 14th century, and it has a rich cultural heritage that reflects its maritime past. Perast was once an important naval center and home to a large fleet of ships that traded with the Mediterranean countries. Perast also has a number of other historical landmarks. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along the promenade and admire the beautiful architecture of the buildings, which reflect the town's Venetian and Ottoman influences. Our Lady of the Rocks is one of the two islets off the coast of Perast in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro. It is an artificial island created by bulwark of rocks and by sinking old and seized ships loaded with rocks. The Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Rocks is the largest building on the islet; it has a museum attached. According to legend, the islet was made over the centuries by local seamen who kept an ancient oath after finding the icon of Madonna and Child on the rock in the sea on 22 July 1452. Upon returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the Bay. Over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea. The custom of throwing rocks into the sea is alive even nowadays. Every year on the sunset of 22 July, an event called fašinada in the local dialect, when local residents take their boats and throw rocks into the sea, widening the surface of the island, takes place. The church was renovated in 1722.

The Kotor Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the coastal town of Kotor, Montenegro. It is surrounded by impressive city walls that date back to the 9th century, and the town itself has a rich history that stretches back over 2,000 years. The old town is a stunning example of a fortified medieval city, and its narrow streets, charming squares, and impressive architecture make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Montenegro. The heart of the old town is Stari Grad, which is the main square and is home to many of the town's most important landmarks. This includes the Cathedral of St. Tryphon, a beautiful 12th-century church that is one of the most recognizable symbols of Kotor. Beautiful day trip to Bosnia and Montenegro

We spent a whole day with Elvir visiting Bosnia and Montenegro. He was easy going and flexible. When my husband forgot his wallet in the car at one of the stops, Elvir offered us money. His knowledge of Croatia was impressive and we learned a lot.

Brilliant trip and brilliant guide!

This was a packed day of sightseeing as you can imagine visiting two countries in one day but despite this our guide made it as easy as possible for us. He was patient and knowledgeable and very friendly. We went with two mid-sixties and an infant (15 months old) and everyone was accommodated for really well. Elvir allowed us to take things at our own pace and gave us freedom to explore and adapt the itinerary to suit our needs. In hindsight, I'd be minded not to take an infant in future on this trip but that was nothing to do with the trip but more to do with the border crossings. We had problems crossing the borders pretty much every time for one reason for another. But this was because of the new EES system brought in because of Brexit and our decision to go on a Montenegrin national holiday - neither of which was the fault of our guide who was as helpful as possible. As for the trip itself, if you are short on time it's well worth it: Trebinje is a beautiful town and the visit here and seeing the monestary is wonderful and you honestly wouldnt need more than half a day there anyway; this trip makes that easy and pleasant. Perast is the same as above; a short break there and you are golden. We stopped there for lunch, Elvir recommend a restaurant at the end of restaurants (it's called konoba otak bronza); amazing fish soup!! Kotor is stunning! We plan to go back at some point because as good as this tour was I wanted to spend more time in Kotor and go up onto the walls but that takes a few hours and there simply wasn't time in this day with everything else we were seeing. Overall, it's a brilliant trip and I'd recommend this to anyone.

Do it!!! We debated because of the length of the tour but it was beyond amazing. Elvir showed us amazing locations and countryside. We were blown away by the beautiful landscapes and architecture along the way. We also had the best driver and guide and I’m sure that matters so make sure you get Elvir Zeba. His knowledge and thoughts on the region was integral in making the tour worth every minute. The boarder crossings delays were a concern but Elvir was able to monitor multiple locations and make sure we had the shortest available wait.

Fun-filled full day!

Niksa was our driver and was very good to stop for great photo opportunities. We were able to see some wonderful sites in both countries, especially Montenegro. He knew traffic patterns and routes very well to speed up the trip. It is a full-day tour plus but worth it. Kotor is a real highlight of the trip!

5-Stars for Elvir

We had an absolutely wonderful day exploring Montenegro and Bosnia with Elvir. From the moment we met him, he was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Throughout the tour, he shared rich political and historical context that brought each location to life in a way we truly appreciated. His personable nature made it feel like we were spending the day with an old friend rather than a guide. The car was spotless and comfortable, and he was an exceptionally safe driver. As two female travelers, we felt completely at ease and well cared for the entire time. The itinerary was followed exactly as published, and the scenery along the way was breathtaking. Overall, this experience exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend Elvir to anyone visiting the region.

Great Tour

We had a lot of fun on our tour. We were able to take our time in all the towns we visited. We also asked for our guide to bring us to a supermarket for us to buy authentic food and he was very happy to detour from the plans, and we were able to go to a bakery as well. All the places we visited the tour guide was able to give us good information. If he didn’t know something he would look it up for us.

One of the highlights of my trip to Dubrovnik!

The tour was very comfortable with great transportation and a knowledgeable guide. I loved walking through the old town of Kotor, which felt like stepping back in time with its medieval streets and historic buildings. The stop in Trebinje was also a pleasant surprise with its charming old town and relaxed atmosphere. A perfect day trip full of beautiful views and cultural experiences.
