After lunch you discover, San Gimignano: the Medieval Manhanattan, where you can explore the maze of cobbled streets, small squares and many local craft stores.
Piazza del Duomo in San Gimignano was the fulcrum of the religious and political life of the town in the Middle Ages. The square owes its name to the Collegiate Church, which has been there since the 11th century, while the current appearance of the square took shape in the first half of the 13th century, during the golden period of the economy and political importance of San Gimignano . The main public buildings and the "rotation" of the cathedral date back to that period, with a new facade opposite the old Palazzo del Podestà. Today the square is slightly sloping and has a brick pavement.
Piazza della Cisterna is, with the Piazza del Duomo, one of the two most important squares in San Gimignano. The square has a triangular shape with a slight natural slope and is connected to the nearby Piazza del Duomo by an open passage. The pavement is herringbone brick and on the sides there is an extraordinary curtain of noble houses and medieval towers.
Our exciting day continues with a panoramic view of the true Chianti countryside before arriving in Siena, where our professional guide ( if option selected ) will let you discover the most important squares, from Piazza del Campo to the Cathedral passing through the most beautiful ‘Contrade’ that characterize this city. At the end of the guided tour, you will have free time to enjoy a cup of coffee or the Pan Forte (the typical local cake) and have some shopping in typical local shops.
Piazza del Campo (or more simply the Campo) is the main square of the city of Siena. Unique for its particular and very original shell shape, it is renowned throughout the world for its beauty and architectural integrity, as well as for being the place where the Palio di Siena takes place twice a year.
The cathedral of Siena, officially the metropolitan cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, is the main place of Catholic worship in Siena, in Tuscany, the episcopal seat of the metropolitan archdiocese of Siena-Colle di Val d'Elsa-Montalcino; the building is located in the square of the same name, in Terzo di Città. Built in Italian Romanesque-Gothic style, it is one of the most significant churches built in this style in Italy.

Our tour guide, Marina, was fantastic. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly and always did so with a smile. Our bus driver, Francesco, was an absolute sweetheart—always cheerful, friendly, and incredibly helpful. We had a wonderful day thanks to both of them. I would highly recommend this tour to all my friends and anyone looking for a memorable experience. Your Montreal friends

It was a great day. Barbara and her team were incredible to spend the day with. She was so knowledgeable about all the places we visited. She was friendly and kind, but also made sure the trip stayed on schedule. The highlight of the trip was lunch at the winery with the most beautiful views of Tuscany. One man at the winery was a bit rude and abrasive, but the rest of the staff was friendly and kind.

The bus was an issue. It was described as having WiFi and air conditioning. There was no WiFi and the AC was marginal at best. We ended up delayed on our return due to an accident and the 11.5 hour “tour” was closer to a 13 hours. The lack of sufficient AC made it seem even longer. Regarding the tour itself, the best part was the wine tasting and lunch at Agricola at Monteriggioni. Great wine, food and overall experience. A big surprise was San Gimignano. Siena and Pisa were “ho-hum”. SG was beautiful in a 15th century way. While Tuscany is a very beautiful part of Italy we spent way too many hours on a bus with marginal AC and no WiFi. It was maybe 50% of the ride. That really was a deal breaker for me. The long winding road down to Pisa was another one. Bring the Dramamine for those at risk for motion sickness.

Great tour, it’s a lot for one day but the tour company and guides make it awesome with interesting information and clear logistics. Niccolo was our overall guide, very nice gentleman. Chiara was our guide in Siena and she was so knowledgeable and funny.

A quite pleasant experience. We utilized the classic experience, and it was nice and quite tiring because there are several activities. We started in Pisa where we were given 1 hour, and then we went to have lunch at a winery in San Gimignano (very delicious, good wines, and a spectacular view), we visited some small towns, and finally went to Siena. For our expectations, it was in line since we were looking for transportation and lunch, not a tour guide. Thank you

This was a scam!!! No communication. Not present at the meeting point. Another company communicated with us, but no reservation. Viator refuses to refund our money. With 6 people involved, this was a VERY expensive scam. I have spent $$$$ with Viator, but never again. The help line continually hung up on me. We lost so much money and didn’t get to go one our tour.
Lovely Time! Gorgeous views. I honestly did think the food served for lunch was slightly average to what i know Italy can provide, but the wines were fantastic. Our guide was lovely.

Our tour was with Barbara and she was very informative and inclusive in all aspects. Barbara arranged accommodations as needed. Overall tour was great to be able to see the Tuscan side in one full day, although about 1-2 hours were spent in each location and the rest was travel but that is something to expect coming from Florence. I would definitely do this tour again! Be prepared to walk 20k steps.
