It was an awesome experience with a really cool chef. Totally worth it. Would do a class always again
Julio was a wonderful instructor. The class was well organized and fun. The food was delicious. The recipes will be shared with us after the class. Overall a very good time!
We had a great time cooking and interacting with the other students in the class. We learned about technique and ingredients.
Enjoyed not only making pasta but also learning about the chemistry that helps make pasta good. Delicious sauces and techniques we created and explained to improve my pasta making experience
I recommend this class for both beginners and intermediate home cooks! My husband and I greatly enjoy cooking and have made homemade pasta before and we learned a lot from Chef Vary. We particularly enjoyed learning to use the gnocchi board and the chitarra, and how to make ravioli. I also appreciate how hands-on the class was as a concern was it turning out to have minimal interaction or it being mostly demonstration. However, we each mixed and kneaded a dough (one of three varieties: semolina, egg pasta with spinach, egg pasta with charcoal), rolled it, and made each shape (cavatelli, linguine, ravioli). We all participated at the same time in chopping sauce and filling ingredients. Chef Vary cooked most of the sauces but had participants help mix and blend - during this time we were prepping items and rolling/cutting/filling the pasta dough. Chef Vary is very blunt and while we enjoyed her frank attitude, there was a person in the class who seemed to find offence. Maybe don't attend if you are very sensitive? The pasta we made was also mostly vegan to accommodate some students - so don't be concerned with food restrictions and preferences as Chef Vary will work with the class to develop a menu that suits everyone.
One of the best nights in Florence .not only was our chef Roberto the sweetest but the friends we made at dinner were wonderful and the quality time spent with my girls was precious ❤️
It was a fun experience with a knowledgeable and humorous chef. Definitely worth it and would do it again!
My wife and I travelled to Florence and she decided to book this class…and let me say, we had an amazing time! The lead chef, Roberto, was very kind and walked us through the whole process. There was even a couple that he did not know was showing up (due to booking issues) and he found a spot for them like it was no problem! The kitchen is very large and everyone is very involved. And the pasta? Amazing of course and goes swimmingly with the red wine that’s also included. Great for families, young adults, and older folks. We had a great time and highly suggest that you go see for yourself!
This was a fun class. Chef Vary is very well traveled and very knowledgeable about all types of food. We were able to make 3 different pastas and 3 different sauces. We learned so much about true Italian cooking and foods. I highly recommend this class.
We had an amazing time with Chef Vary. There were four of us, and she totally altered the class and the recipes to fit our specific tastes! She was very informational and very fun! She made it all seem so easy and doable! I would totally recommend doing this tour because it feels much more authentic than a lot of the other cooking classes you'll find in Florence! The food was so delicious and we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal over a delicious glass of wine!
