Egyptian Museum in Turin

Magnificent Egyptian Museum of Turin, founded in 1824, is the oldest museum entirely devoted to ancient Egypt and one of the most important in the world. It houses more than 40,000 artifacts, including statues, papyri, sarcophagi and mummies, tracing 4,000 years of Nile history. On the other hand it is better to favor the bus / tram because in car it remains complicated we quickly made to have surprise almonds once home...

Bring history to life!

Our guide, Sara was great. She was very accommodating and made the museum a much better experience than it would've been without her. Her knowledge of Egyptian history gave me a much better understanding of the incredible ancient culture.

Great 3 hour tour of an astonishing museum and a beautiful city!

The guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. I think he really wanted us to enjoy and learn from the museum visit. The city walking tour was also great, lots of information packed into an hour. I have visited Turin’s Egyptian Museum twice. It is amazing, but I would never go without a guide. It would be overwhelming!

Must see with a great guide

This is the best guided tour we’ve ever had. The museum is stunning. So many artifacts and very well organized. I have to mention Nasr our guide. University trained, incredible knowledge of every artifact and skill to read hieroglyphs made the experience so much fun. By the end of the tour, we were able to read hieroglyphs in sarcophaguses and other antiquities. Thanks Nasir for making our trip an unforgettable one.

Yes!

Our guide was very informative, interesting and kind. He was from Egypt, married an Italian and lives in Turin. He can actually read hieroglyphics!
