Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21) and Choeung Ek Killing Fields Tour

Description
A professional English speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the killing fields of Choeung Ek Genocide Center – 9 miles away south of Phnom Penh. The infamous killing fields have a bloody history. Once an orchard and a Chinese cemetery, the Khmer Rouge, lead by Pol Pot, turned the place into what became known as the killing fields, where they executed around 2.000 prisoners. Over three years, they massacred and buried 2.5 million people. After remembering the dead, return to Phnom Penh to visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21). Meaning hill of the poisonous trees, Pol Pot turned a once popular high school into a high security prison. 20,000 people were imprisoned there, many of whom were tortured for information. Today it serves as a museum and a reminder of darker days. Your guide will return you to your hotel or guesthouse. you could ask any question tour tour guide

The guide Sem Keaksa was knowledgeable informative and kept the group moving at a nice pace … not raced yet not too long Very sad place after visiting the extermination camps in Germany and Poland the viciousness of PolPot on all esp children and babies defies belief Solemn experience that schools should teach to try and get future generations to endorse peace
Good tour and guide Sum Cheath was very knowledgeable with excellent English. Very informative.
Great tour! Chesda was knowledgeable and kept things light when appropriate for such a heavy subject. You could do the same activities alone and use the audio headphones provided at the two locations, but it was better imo to have someone explain the history and context as well, and to be able to answer questions.
We had the killing fields and genocide museum tour, the guide was excellent, informative and guided us and give plenty of time to explore ourselves
This was a really interesting tour and I learned a lot. Not for the faint hearted, or for young children, as the content is very graphic and very confronting. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Would recommend for anyone wanting to learn more about Cambodia’s dark history.
It's definitely a must do experience while in Phnom Penh. Our guide, Mr. Baboon, was very knowledgeable and shared his vast knowledge of the history on the Killing Fields, the prison, as well as his own family's ordeal throughout the horrific period. Even though it was heart breaking and harrowing to learn what happened in the country not that long ago, it is also a very important one. Mr. Baboon also went through some interesting facts on Cambodia and injected some humour to the tour. A shout out to our amazing driver as well, Mr T!
A sad day but must do while in Phnom Penh, our guide mr baboon was excellent and knew all the history of both sites
The tour to see the killing fields and Genocide Museum with our guide Cheath was a must-see experience if you are visiting Phnom Penh. You can't understand Cambodia's recent history without these two excursions. Cheath was knowledge and thoughtful while explaining things. Don't miss out on this experience. Sure, it's a dark period in Cambodia's history, but a necessary one to learn about. Cheath was a terrific guide!
Great information on what happened during the time and interesting setup, guide was great, will tell others to get there
Thought provoking tour with a exceptional guide. Also they were very generous with water which is not common for this type of trip.
