Casa Carbonell, a modernist building built in the 1920s. According to legend, it was commissioned by a textile industrialist after being humiliated by its humble appearance when arriving from Alcoy during an epidemic.
The Consistorial House of Alicante, built in the 18th century, is a prominent example of the Valencian civil baroque. Its main facade features two symmetrical towers that frame the building. On the left tower is the clock, which uses the Roman spelling “IIII” instead of the usual “IV”, a common convention in watchmaking dating back to historical traditions
In the past, this square was known as Plaza de la Horca, as it was the place where public executions took place. Being located next to the old wall and one of its main gates, it was a strategic point to scarce the population: executions were done in full view of all those entering or leaving the city.
This square, formerly known as Plaza de las Barcas, owes its current name to the celebrated writer Gabriel Miró, whose statue has presided over the space since 1929. It is a place with great sentimental value for Alicantens and an oasis of shade and tranquility in the heart of the city.
This pedestrian street has become famous for its decoration with large colored mushrooms, an artistic intervention that has made it a children's and photographic icon.
Opened in 1847, the Teatro Principal is the cultural heart of Alicante. Its neoclassical facade with Ionic columns is one of the architectural icons of the city.
This picturesque neighborhood, nestled on the slopes of Mount Benacantil, preserves the Arab layout of narrow streets, whitewashed houses and steep steps.
It is the oldest temple in the city, built on an ancient mosque after the Reconquista. Its Gothic façade and Baroque details tell of its evolution over the centuries.
Located on top of Mount Benacantil, this castle has been a strategic fortress since Islamic times. It is one of the largest medieval fortresses in Spain. Its origin dates back to the 9th century, during the domination Muslim.
Plaza de España is one of Alicante’s main open spaces, located right next to the Central Market. It is a busy area, both for its commercial activity and its proximity to cultural institutions and traditional neighborhoods.
In this same area is the historic Plaza de Toros de Alicante, opened in 1847 and one of the oldest in the Valencian Community. He has witnessed bullfighting shows, concerts and popular events. Although its use has evolved, it remains a building of great relevance to urban heritage.
It is the starting point of mascletàs during the Bonfires of San Juan. Here thousands of people gather every June to celebrate Alicante’s big festival.
At the foot of the castle and next to the historic center, this urban beach is one of the best known in the Valencian Community. Its name comes from the old postigo (secondary gate) that communicated the city with the coast. Today is an ideal place to relax after the tour, with its promenade, palm trees and calm waters.

Guide was good, nice friendly, saw some sights, only complaint is the tour on Viator said 1.5 hours and we were cut to 55 minutes. Seems they overbooked as they reached out early and tried to reschedule but we were in a cruise ship and could not.

Slightly disappointed. Firstly though, we couldn't fault the lady driver. Friendly, helpful and informative. Some very good historical titbits. However, it felt slightly underwhelming, perhaps because we are residents and knew a fair bit anyway. It covered the old town, new town, mushroom street, bullring, castle etc. Took 50 mins not 70 (maybe we didn't ask enough questions). The lady kindly altered our drop off point, which was appreciated. On the negatives, the tuktuk is not fantastically accessible if you have leg or knee issues. The tour commentary needed speakers really, rather than talking over road noise. And we didn't get our complementary water. Mixed review but on balance worth it for being something different.

As for accessibility, our vehicles are standard tuk tuks and their design is clearly visible before booking. Ride was nice but driver was too fast. Recommend to drive slower to appreciate the sites xxxxxxcxxxx

Too expensive for what it is, not worth it, very little explanation, the girl was nice but she hardly spoke Spanish, which was the option I chose when making the reservation... a brief tour of unimportant parts of Alicante, or at least that is how we felt due to the lack of explanation... the only thing I can highlight is passing by Zetas Street and knowing how to get to Santa Catalina Castle, which of course we went to afterward, because they only gave us 10 minutes and we could only reach the door where we asked... quality-price ratio 0.

La ruta, la duración, las paradas y el carácter panorámico del tour están descritos con total claridad antes de reservar. Un recorrido en tuk tuk por Alicante no es una visita guiada de varias horas al Castillo de Santa Bárbara ni una excursión a pie por cada monumento de la ciudad. Pretender lo contrario es simplemente no haber leído la descripción de la actividad. 🖤🛺 También resulta sorprendente afirmar que hubo “nula explicación” mientras destaca varios lugares que descubrió durante el recorrido y que visitó posteriormente gracias a las indicaciones recibidas. Si realmente no hubiera existido explicación alguna, difícilmente habría obtenido esa información. Respecto al idioma, la guía realiza tours en español de forma habitual. Que su acento o forma de expresarse no haya sido de su agrado es una cuestión completamente distinta a afirmar que “casi no hablaba español”. Lamentamos que sus expectativas fueran diferentes a la experiencia contratada, pero el tour se realizó exactamente conforme a la descripción publicada y aceptada en el momento de la reserva. ☀️💨

The tour started off great . Dori our driver messaged me 10 minutes before expected time to explain where she was . The tour is really good , the tuk tuk was electric, so nice and quiet. She took us around the city and all the time pointing out interesting things with a commentary too . We even went up to the castle for 15 minutes which was good for photo opportunities. All in all a great way to see the city . Thanks Dori, you were fab .

Our driver was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and kept us on schedule throughout the trip. Dropped us at cruise port entrance so we didn’t have to fight traffic and bus ride.
