An unforgettable experience at the Wolf Sanctuary. The silence, the nature, and the wolves created something truly special. We felt very well cared for throughout our stay. Five stars – we can’t wait to come back.
Thank you for your review. We hope to see you here again soon!
Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary offers a truly eye-opening and moving experience with this endangered species. The remarkable work done by Robin and her dedicated team is both commendable and heart-warming. The animals are housed in natural enclosures and are well maintained. The wolves are clearly well cared for, and as an NGO, the sanctuary relies heavily on public awareness and support to continue its vital work. Nestled in the lush, green Tsitsikamma region, the sanctuary is as beautiful as it is meaningful. A visit here is both educational and deeply inspiring.
It is sad that places like this need to exist but thankfully they do. We just did the one hour tour. The guide was informative and clearly cared for the animals. One was friendly and liked to be touched through the fence. It was interesting to experience an wolf that clearly didn't like the guide (she was aware). The only criticism we would have was that the guide was a bit snobby about the wolf dog and thought it shouldn't be there. A reasonable experience for 350zar
The whole experience was out of this world. Magical. The accommodation was very comfortable. Excellent environment. The rustic cabins are great and kitchen equipped with everything one needs. Staff was fantastic, warm and welcoming. I felt welcomed and at ease immediately upon arrival. The tour is very informative. I highly recommend this both the accommodation and the day pass. It's an animal lover's dream.
Dear Jason, thank you for your positive feedback. We are grateful for that you chose to stay at the Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary in support of the wolves. Looking forward to your next visit!
We had the most amazing time at Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary. We were a family of four and the staff couldn't do enough to welcome us. We spent the evening watching the wolves at play and as we were the only visitors there we had the roam of it all to ourselves. It was better than TV, watching the wolves at play and learning their personalities. It was just magical. Also going to sleep and waking in the night to the howl of wolves. It's simple, basic, no tv, or electricity. Just amazing. I've seen similar experiences in Europe for thousands, and totally out of most normal people's reach, which made this even more special.
Thank you for your kind review and for taking the time to support the Sanctuary. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Hope we get to see you again soon 😊🐺💓
Informative and educational. Sad that this is needed in a country where wolves do not belong. Glad there are people like these who care.
Thank you for your positive review. The work cannot be done without your support. Please visit us again soon.
I loveed it! I may be biased because I love wolves but honestly it was great. Our guide was well informed and he was clearly passionate about his work. I feel educated about wolves and it was definitely worth it. It was lovely walking tour around all the wolf enclosures! Glad to see they're all being taken care of. Being so close to all the wolves was a great experience, my friend and I were even able to pick up a piece of shedded wolf fur from the ground. We also loved the cats! Super cute. Thank you tsitsikamma wolf sanctuary, definitely will be back with my cousins who also love wolves!

We visited the sanctuary, accompanied by an elderly parent, on a rainy day that limited other activities. We were welcomed by our guide and a chorus from the 24 🐺 residents. The sanctuary is located just off of the N2, amidst forest and mountains as a backdrop, the overcast weather added to the atmosphere. Wolves are not native to South Africa, those in the sanctuary are Grey/Timber 🐺 indigenous to North America and Eurasia, they would have been imported by the SADF many years back or to be kept as exotic pets. Tsitsikamma is as close to their natural environment as could be found in SA! Our guide clearly has a strong bond with the animals, he took time to answer all of our questions too. The sanctuary is run as a non-profit and mostly cares for pure bred wolves, they are doing good work in a competitive space. We all enjoyed the time that we spent there, my father told me that it was a highlight of his visit to that area 🙂 Thank you!
Thank you so much for your positive review. We are grateful that you and your family took the time to visit the Sanctuary in support of the wolves. Hope you visit us again soon!
It was a privilege to come here and listen to the devoted guide tell the story of their wolves along with the joys and struggles of this sanctuary. All the wolves looked happy albeit in an ideal world none of them would have been here in the 1st place. If you’re travelling along the N2 book a tour
Thank you for taking the time to support the cause. We appreciate your feedback. Hope to see you again soon! Safe journey
An amazing little hidden gem. We had an amazing tour of the sanctuary from an enthusiastic and knowledgeable young man. This was a very informative and interesting tour and you can tell that the animals are well taken care of.
Thank you so much for your positive review! Hope you get to visit again soon. 🐺🙏
