We had a great trip with our helpful guide Kadir to the Elephanta caves taking the ferry from Mumbai and then walking up to the wonderful cave area. Kadir looked after us wonderfully throughout the day and was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Thank you for bringing a great guide Kadir!
We enjoyed our experience at the Elephanta Caves tour as well as our guides. I highly recommend if you are in Mumbai!
I really wanted to love the Elephanta cave tour. Our hotel pickup was scheduled for 12:00 (latest time offered). That morning time was changed by driver Naresh to 12:30; then 12:45; by the time he arrived it was almost 1:00. Traffic was heavy & parking difficult. Driver provided no information on the drive & answered questions with one word answers. Rushed to make last ferry to island, with driver always 10 paces ahead of us & not looking back. Luckily 2:00 ferry left at 2:20 so we just made it. Ferry trip took 90 minutes; it was 4:00 by the time we disembarked. More rushing to meet local guide, Manoj, who was wonderful. He had to give us a fast-paced tour as the island closed at 5:00. He took great photos for us, provided lots of info about island life & the cave carvings. Manoj even gave a few photography tips! He deserves a 5star review & is the only reason I gave this tour 3 stars. More rushing to make last ferry off island & same experience chasing after our driver on the way back to the car. Tour was not worth what we paid, especially since we purchased 3 tickets & one person could not make the tour. I was asked for feedback after the tour & after sharing our disappointing experience, response was “sorry ma’am”.
The caves contain a wealth of Shiva related sculptures, that really opened up with in-depth stories by our guide Manush. We took the ferry to the island, assisted by our driver Narendra. After a misunderstanding about roles had been sorted out, we got our money's worth of views on impressive, ancient works of art plus some monkeys. Special thanks to Manush who turned out to be a photography buff - nice pics of us.
Booked a guided tour to Elephanta caves.it was a great experience with Arshad Sir.Very polite and knowledgable.
