Trekking on Perito Moreno with walkways and transfer

Description
This Trekking requires approximately 3 hours of trekking between ice and moraine, just like the traditional Minitrekking, but it is much more physically intense due to the pace of walking (almost twice the distance is covered in the same time) and the large amount of earrings. The walk on the ice with crampons lasts approximately one hour, it is done 1km west of the traditional Minitrekking area and you can see crevasses, lagoons, seracs and other incredible glacial formations. You also visit an immense waterfall a few meters from the glacier and the toast is made on the boat returning to the port.

Itinerary
The tour begins with the pick-up from the meeting point agreed in El Calafate. In our comfortable buses, we will give information about the place, the glacier and the tour through audio guides available in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Once in the “Bajo las Sombras” port (Ruta 11, km 70.9) you board a ship to cross the Lago Rico to arrive at the opposite shore after a 20-minute trip approximately in front of the southern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier. When you get ashore, and after passing by the shelter, the mountain guides organize small groups of up to 20 people. Then, a short 20-minute walk begins with a talk about glaciology along the shore of the lake towards the glacier. Once on the ice, the guides put on each participant a pair of crampons and give them instructions on how they should walk on the ice. In the about 1:30 hour walk on the glacier, you will be able to appreciate a wide variety of ice formations as well as cracks, seracs, glacier mills and small ponds.
Once you arrive at “Bajo de las Sombras” port (located on Route 11, 70 Km from El Calafate), you will board a ship to cross Lago Rico and arrive to the opposite coast after a 10-minute navigation in front of the stunning south face of Glaciar Perito Moreno. When we disembark on Bahia Puma, just 500 meters from the glacier, you will be received by our expert mountain guides. Then we will start the hike with a walk of about one hour on the lake coast and later on the moraine next to the ice (ground with rocks and unstable earth).
The duration of this tour is about 10 hours, including the one-hour guided transfer, to the walkways of Glaciar Perito Moreno, 7 km from our port. There, you will have the chance to enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the glacier and walk along some of the self-guided paths. If you don’t book our transfer with a visit to catwalks and go by your own means, this tour takes about five hours, leaving from the port and returning to the same point.

You have to do it. We made the reservation one night before and still got space for 7 people. The hotel (America Central Hostel) did it for us; we arrived in our own car before noon. Everything was super punctual and professional. Be patient if others do not have the same physical condition; the experience will be unforgettable anyway. Relax.
Well processed organization with experienced guides! Easy track and would have been better to spend more time over ice ( 3 hr track > 1 hr on glacier)
Best experience of the entire trip to El Calafate. It's a must-do for anyone who comes here, it's really worth it. We bought directly through the Hielo e Aventura website.
A great experience, totally recommended, the trekking is a little short for what you pay and the time they give you to be on the walkways is still very short, so you should appreciate the rest, everything is fine.
