The Temple of Kom Ombo is an unusual double temple in the town of Kom Ombo in Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt. It was constructed during the Ptolemaic dynasty, 180–47 BC. Some additions to it were later made during the Roman period. The building is unique because its 'double' design meant that there were courts, halls, sanctuaries and rooms duplicated for two sets of gods. The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world with Hathor and Khonsu.[2] Meanwhile, the northern part of the temple was dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris ("Horus the Elder"), along "with Tasenetnofret (the Good Sister, a special form of Hathor or Tefnet/Tefnut and Panebtawy (Lord of the Two Lands)." The temple is atypical because everything is perfectly symmetrical along the main axis.
Dedicated to the god Horus of Behedet, lord of Edfu, the Temple of Horus is the most famous monument at Tell Edfu. Due to its completeness and state of preservation, it is the best example of Ptolemaic temple building in Egypt. The temple is oriented from south to north, measuring little over 140m long and occupying an area of about 7000 m2.

Both the driver and the guide were fantastic. Very good explanations and very friendly. The only thing to note is that if you want to be dropped off at the West Bank in Luxor you will have to pay an extra. Otherwise recommended.

My fiance and I had our nile cruise cancelled so we booked this last minute, and we're glad we did because Ayman was amazing. We took the three day trip from Aswan to Kom Ombo on our private feluca with an amazing crew. On our way, we visited three temples : Philae, Kom Ombo and a private car took us to Edfu, and Louxor, our final destination. We felt very safe and taken care of on the boat and we loved Iman, our great bubbly funny guide. It was a transforming experience that I'll never forget. Mina was always prompt to answer all our questions and even got out of his way to make sure the wallet I dropped on the car floor was returned. We loved every minute of this trip.

Very grateful to Mr Mina for accommodating our itinerary, substituting Kom Ombo for Esna. He answered all my questions in preparation for the trip. Our tour guide Samuel at Edfu was quick and informative, then left us to explore at our own pace. Throughout our 10 day journey in Egypt, and booking with various transfer companies, Remon was actually our favourite driver of our whole trip - reliable, friendly, and very polite. The bigger car was extremely comfortable and perfect for a long day's journey from Aswan to Luxor.
