Itinerary
After the Pick up, we move to the beautiful waterfalls "El Chiflón" where we will hike to see the different waterfalls until we reach "Velo de Novia" with a fall of more than 120 meters high. In this site you can see a great variety of species of orchids, bromeliads, sabino trees, palomillo trees, sapodilla, cedar and mahogany. Among the existing wildlife that can be found in the area you can find: iguanas, rabbits, armadillos, snakes and various birds.
We continue our way to the Lagunas de Montebello National Park visiting 5 lagoons such as Tziscao, Internacional, Pojoj, 5 Lagos and the main Montebello. Where the food will be made after visiting the first two lagoons, lunch time 1 hour, the typical restaurants within the Lagunas de Montebello National Park are recommended, and later the last lagoons are crossed. The Lagunas de Montebello National Park, Located in the municipality of La Trinitaria, Chiapas, Mexico, a place characterized by its natural, historical and archaeological tourist attractions], unique natural beauty of its kind, due to its different colored lakes, caused by the same nature that surrounds it, simply a magical place.
Lake Pojoj belongs to the Lagunas de Montebello National Park, a network of bodies of water that are located in the Chiapas municipality of Trinitaria. The lagoons also serve as the border between Mexico and Guatemala. The first thing you should do in Lake Pojoj is take a perfect raft ride, which is made of logs tied with natural fiber ties. The exciting thing about these navigations is that all the crew must row, which allows you to enjoy the sound of the water, the noises of the forest and, incidentally, do some exercise that immediately revives.
The International Lake is located between the limits of Mexico and Guatemala (border). It is located just 2 km away, starting from the main entrance of Ejido Tziscao. Lago Internacional is part of a system of 30 spectacular lagoons where the tourist parador with viewpoints, piers, walkways, trails, restaurants and a handicraft plaza were rehabilitated and expanded to attract more national and Guatemalan visitors, particularly with the old stone path that connects to Mexico and Guatemala.

Great day, Kate. Perfect framing. You have time to enjoy each of the places, the program is very complete for the price! I recommend!
Saludos
Time is too much, seats are uncomfortable. I spent more time in the Urvban than in the tourist landscapes. I think much more could be improved
The Chiflon waterfalls were great, but we needed to stay with the group while we were there and got a little short time in my opinion. Montebello lakes are definitely not worth the long trip. The food over there was way overpriced (300 pesos for 2 coffee and 2 quesadillas), but you were left no choice. Felt like a tourist trap to me. The lakes themselves are not special. If I would do it again, I would look for an only el Chiflon tour
We are sorry that your trip was not to your liking. When you buy a shared service, you must accompany the group at all times, which is why it is a shared service. Regarding food, it is not something that is in our control. Have a great day!!!
I love the naturalist everything was amazing. The only thing if you want to have a good breakfast is to bring your own food
Thank you for your comment, we are at your service so that you live unforgettable experiences
This was a very long day. But we’ll worth it. The waterfall was spectacular. I also went zip lining for the first time! The lakes were also so beautiful. The roads in all of Chiapas are littered with very large speed bumps. So be prepared for a bumpy bus ride. But we had a good driver. And we got to step into Guatemala!
Thank you for your comment, that's right, there are many speed bumps, but this helps to drive with caution. We appreciate your assessment and we are at your service for the future.
The announced ride was completed on time, driver ok. 20 euros for the service is more than correct. However, you will have to add all the tips of the guides (chiflón waterfall and boatmaster) and the activity of the raft tour on the lagoon at 150 pesos. Moreover the place to eat at lunch is more than expensive for what it offers. A small plate of carne asada with frijol and rice for 120 pesos. In short, if we take all the expenses, the price of the tour almost doubles. So we have to provide cash.
Good time! Armando took care of us and was a great overall experience. I will do it again. The waterfalls incredible… and the people of Chiapas are great!
Thank you very much for your comment, we will let Armando know your opinion, we will always be aware of our clients to provide them with the best service.
It's worth it, it's a long drive to the Guatemalan border Sites are managed by local communities, are in good condition Breakfast, 2:30 hrs to Chiflon The waterfalls of Chiflon is not so heavy climb, it is worth seeing it upstairs and encourage you to get wet at the final lookout -take change of clothes because the breeze wets and towel to dry and aqua shoes or shoes that do not slip and get wet In March-April you see the turquoise colors of the water, in June it is rains and the water is scrambled It's 1:30 a.m. to the Lagoons of Montebello, you get to eat some places that have chicken or meat or cheese melt, well the food $120 The Lagoons are impressive for the color, in the first lagoon you can get on a raft $200 that takes you to the other side to see a cenote, and then to the island where there are orchids and you can swim Then 3 hrs back Luis the super friendly driver 4 instead of 5 because the van was full and we touched the back row and we couldn't really fit the 4 reloaded
The tour gave you time to tour each place in a quiet way. The driver very trained and provided good recommendations.
Got picked up within the timeframe and hit the road toward the falls! The guide didn’t speak any English (when I booked I had selected the English option though) It’s almost 3 hr drive to the falls, no bathroom breaks, can’t eat on the bus and the seats aren’t the most comfortable. Once we arrived at the falls we had 2 hrs to explore which was a bit rushed if you wanted to see all the falls and also relax and try to grab some food and eat before getting back on the bus. The second stop was at a lake and we were first told it was a 20 minute stop, then 30 minutes then a hr…..You have the option to go on a boat tour but you are expected to paddle the boat so it’s not a relaxing experience but it is beautiful. At this stop you can get lunch but if you don’t speak Spanish it’s impossible to understand what anyone is saying because everyone was speaking very fast. The last stop is another lake that borders Guatemala and it’s very beautiful but we weren’t given a time frame for when to be back at the bus so after wandering around for a bit the driver found all of us and we left for the almost 4 hr drive with no bathroom breaks, got back to hostel at 1030pm. It’s a very long day, the locations are beautiful but be prepared and bring your own lunch!
