Our guide was not very experienced When we entered the car he asked us what we wanted to do. We were expecting some suggestions but he wasn’t quite sure what to suggest Needs much more experience. Very disappointed and we left early
Driver John made the trip “spectacular.” Saw the Highlands!! Great trip and great history of Scotland.
We've used Viator/Tripadvisor for tours for several years and this Glasgow one was truly dissatisfying. We were promised a 4 hr Glasgow tour and what we received was a driver who not only did not know how many passengers he was to pick up but had no itinerary for our tour. he was a nice gentlemen who did a great job driving but we had paid a large sum for a tour guide. We had to be the ones directing him where to go. That's not to mention that he was so soft spoken, that we could not hear him in the back seat of his van. Very disappointing!
Our driver, Gary, was awesome! He was from Glasgow, knew the city well, and was very friendly. He was able to stop in various locations so we could jump out and see the area, take pictures, and back to the car. This allowed us to see so much in a short time. Because he was local and this was a private tour, we were able to see things that weren't on the itinerary. We felt very fortunate to have gotten Gary that day
This was contracted out to a company called scottish transfers. this is a limo company not a tour company. if we had wanted a car service we would have booked a limo. we wanted a tour of glasgow. The driver got mad when we expected more from him and left us downtown to find our own way. He was also not of Scottish decent his name was Jafar, had only been living in the area 4 years and new no history or information about anything. He told us it was only his job to drive. Very disappointed as we have booked several other tours and they have all been fabulous but this one was BAD! If you see the tour guide is Scottish Transfers you need to change it immediately.
Hi Rebecca, sorry to hear about your bad experience. What i would say is that the first question you asked the driver when you got in the car is what country he was from. The Driver in question whilst not native born of Scotland is a naturlised citizen of the United Kingdom and having done his citizenship test is probably far more knowledgable of the country that many of its native inhabitants. Perhaps if you dont want to run into Genuine Scottish People of which your driver is now one you should perhaps stick to watching Scotland on TV. and save the rest of the world from your bitter racist point of view. If your expecting drivers in Kilts and called Hamish you'll find that on Netflix.
Our driver, Jafar, was wonderful however there was miscommunication regarding the nature of our tour. He was under the impression that he was taking us back to Greenock port rather than providing a tour of Glasgow. He quickly adapted and we collectively put together a tour that worked out.
