Very interesting tour with a knowledgable guide who pointed out interesting features and facts in the artwork. He also knew everyone and got us some local homemade cakes.
Where do I start. Our guide Alex was exceptional!! Lots of locals clearly know him and we were welcomed into galleries and cafes with open arms by the locals. Alex’s local artist and history knowledge was first rate. He was very friendly and personable and generous with his time, and if we do this again wouldn’t hesitate to request him as our guide. Loved we took the funicular up and walked down rather than the other way around. We had a lovely sunny afternoon which played beautifully with all the street art and building colours. I’d suggest to do a 1-2pm tour start if you can. Alex left us at a gorgeous corner with loads of cafes and restaurants to choose from for an early dinner. The one we chose was extremely good quality. Well done Alex!!
Alex / Alejandro was such a fantastic guide for this tour. He knew almost every artist, street vendor, and local dog, and could tell us so many stories from behind the scenes in Valparaiso. It is clear how close he is with this community, as many local artists stopped us to tell us about how lucky we were to have him as a guide and how fantastic he was. The tour was well paced, well structured, and at the end he left us with great recommendations for what to do next. I’d recommend Alex and this tour to anyone interested in learning about Valparaiso and getting to know the stories behind the art and artists that make up the city.
Lots of details about the development of the city and the changes it has gone through followed by lots of local stree art. We had a great time
Great guide and informative tour
It was great- he actually picked us from the station and moved at our pace. Absolutely loved the walk; informative and fun. He was very clear, spoke English and even offered to take our pics.
Fantastic art tour in Valparaíso. Insightful, well organized, and led by a passionate guide who explained the stories and meaning behind the street art and neighborhoods. A great way to truly understand the city.
We loved our tour yesterday with Benjamin, about the history and art from the area including the street art. Benjamin was a guide with a huge amount of knowledge to share and also added anecdotes and curiosities from the past.
We love street art and have taken similar tours in places like Greece, so we were excited to explore Valparaíso this way, and it did not disappoint! Benjamin was our guide, and he was fantastic. His knowledge of the city’s history is incredible; it felt like walking with a passionate human encyclopedia. Before we started, he asked how much history versus "just look at pretty street and art," and we told him we liked a mix of both. Benjamin struck the perfect balance and pointed out so many details in the artwork that we never would have noticed on our own. He also explained the stories behind statues, landmarks, and the fascinating history of Valparaíso. Along the way we stopped for a treat, rode one of the city’s famous funiculars, and even met some friendly local shop owners. It felt like a very authentic way to experience the city. If you want a great tour with a knowledgeable and passionate guide who truly loves sharing Chile’s culture and history, look no further. Highly recommended!
Alex was an amazing tour guide!!! Our children loved it as well!! It was one of the highlights of our trip to Chile! He gave us so much history and took us to all the top sights in Valpo! Alex’s English was perfect and he answered all of our questions. He told personal stories and made the tour engaging a fun for all. We had a great time and would highly recommend the tour to everyone. Thank you for a wonderful tour!!
