Itinerary
The legendary wooden train of Sóller takes us through the unique landscapes offered by the Sierra de Alfabia in the Sierra Tramuntana and the Valley of Sóller; aroma of orange trees, olive trees, nature and the sea combined with tunnels, steep mountains, exuberant forests and magnificent views that give us an unforgettable experience.
The century-old tram will take you from the interior of Soller to the beautiful natural port of Puerto de Soller, surrounded by mountains that offer all kinds of activities and sights, as well as wonderful views. The Port of Soller has a rich maritime history for its perfect location in the Sierra de Tramuntana, which made it a commercial center of the area and a treasure coveted by former pirates and smugglers.
Sóller, the commercial and cultural center of the Sierra, welcomes us to the main square of Sóller, which is perfect for sitting on a terrace and looking at the church of San Bartolomé and the Banco de Sóller building. Both constructions are a modernist work by the architect Joan Rubió, a disciple of Gaudí, who also signed the façade of the church, with a rose window carved in stone. Known as the cradle of modernism, Sóller keeps an extensive history between its streets and buildings. The old colonial-style manor houses and palaces tell us how in the 19th and 20th centuries, Majorcan merchants made their fortunes trading oranges in France and how King Alfonso XIII proclaimed Sóller the city and commercial and cultural center of the area.

The train to soller is very pleasant. It can get busy but if you buy a ticket you can get a seat. It gets hot but there’s a nice breeze. It’s a pretty enough journey to soller. Once you get there to tram to the port is a nightmare. A real free for all. If you’re in any way infirm or have small kids the. You have e little or box jangle getting a gram down to the port before 2, or back after 4. It’s chaotic and unpleasant. Save yourself the effort and get the 204 bus down and back up. The tram ride is not even pleasant t-between graffiti ridden buildings and it cost 10 euros each way per person. Child rate only for those under 6- a real rip off. So train- great and well organised used. Team- a chaotic mess.
Dear customer, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the historic train journey to Sóller and the beautiful scenery along the way. We’re sorry that the tram experience did not meet your expectations. During this time of year, Mallorca welcomes a very high number of visitors, and some of the island’s most popular attractions, such as the Sóller tram, can become quite busy. We understand that this may sometimes feel overwhelming. We truly appreciate your constructive feedback and will take it into account as we continue working with our partners to improve our customers’ experience whenever possible. We hope you still enjoyed your visit to Sóller and look forward to welcoming you back to Mallorca in the future. Best regards, Lemon Tours
Excursion reserved through the Lemon agency in Palmanova; the lady at the counter is nice and speaks French very well. The guide Sophie is kind and attentive; she answers questions with a lot of professionalism.
It’s very rushed. You go from a bus to a tram to a train to a bus and nothing else. We were only in the port and soller for 20 minutes each.
We didn’t do the tour but we did take the tram from Soller to Port Soller and back. I know it feels like a must do thing but at 10 euros each way this is a total rip off. There was only two of us but if we had our family with us it would be 80 euros return!!!! The view isn’t magnificent and the journey can be stop start. I think it’s great that they’ve refurbished the trams and they are operating but please bring the price down.
Sophie was an amazing tour guide, her knowledge and sense of humour was brilliant, the tour its self had breathtaking views and beautiful village by the port. Would definitely recommend it. Ideally longer time and the port would of been nice. Excellent day out for us 😀 Might book the biggest free hotel in Palma next year lol Sophia 🤣
I got there in time, waited there for half an hour, but there was no bus. Not wanting to waste my day, I went on another tour. Therefore very bad experience u my money is gone.
Today we made the tram crossing from the town hall square of Soller to the port, double robbery, my partner and I went and it cost us 20 euros to get off and another 20 euros to go up, on top of that we did not have time to even have a beer in the port. If you come with a car that is not silly and go directly with your car that is not worth it, it has been a total waste of time.
Booked on their website and got a small discount. Nice trip back and forth. Nice views.
I looked at trip advisor before going on this trip and saw a recommendation to take the train to soller, and then return to Palma by bus. This worked out brilliantly and reduced stress of timetable restraints. Highly recommend
I’m very wanted to get this train for years and we finally had a weekend in Palma so we could make the journey. It did not disappoint. Of course it was busy and I cannot imagine what it’s like in July and August as it was quite busy in June. We loved the port and are planning to go back and stay. Soller is beautiful and we can’t wait to return.
