Tour Aconcagua Park in Small Group from Mendoza with Barbecue Lunch

Description
Group size no more than nine people with breakfast and lunch with wine included. Unlike most other Mendoza agencies we actually enter Aconcagua Park and hike for one hour. An extravagant barbecue lunch with limitless wine is also included. Travel the old Trans-Andean railway via minibus on this 8-hour small-group tour. With your guide, pass the snow-capped Cordón del Plata and stop by the turquoise Potrerillos lake on your way to the mountain town of Uspallata. After passing through Penitentes Ski Resort you’ll reach Aconcagua Park. On your return back you will have the opportunity to stop and see Puente Del Inca, a naturally formed bridge over a steep ravine. Once in Uspallata you’ll enjoy an afternoon lunch of Argentine asado (local style barbecue - not gourmet) before concluding your tour at approximately at 5:30pm.

Itinerary
We pass through the wine region of Lujan de Cuyo, enjoying views of the vineyards and the Andean foothills
The road takes us through the mountain valley of Cacheuta and a tunnel that passes through the foothills into the high Andes.
Begin your tour with pickup at 8:30am from your hotel/hostel in Mendoza. Visit Potrerillos Lake around 9:30am before stopping for coffee in Uspallata at 11am.
We continue following the mountain road up towards the Chilean border, passing through the ski resort of Los Penitentes.
Continue on with your knowledgeable and fun guide as you make you way to Aconcagua National Park. This tour is one of the very few that is allowed access to enter the park. Once inside you will take a 1-hour hiking circuit, visit the Horcones pond, and then stop at a viewing point to see the tallest mountain outside the Himalayas (weather permitting).
On the return back you will stop at Puente del Inca, a naturally formed bridge over a steep ravine around 1:30pm
Upon arriving in Uspallata you’ll enjoy an afternoon lunch of Argentine asado (barbecue) including a local delicacy, kid goat and some excellent wines at about 2:30pm. Hotel/hostel drop-off will take place at approximately 5:30pm. This small-group tour only allows for a maximum of 8 travelers to ensure a more personalized experience. Please note most of this tour is conducted via an air conditioned minibus, as there is about 5-hours of travel time spent in the vehicle. While there is a moderate amount of walking at Aconcagua Park and Puente del Inca, there is not time for major hiking due to travel distance.

Super attentive staff, always attentive and knowledgeable of history, vineyards and tours
You can trust without fear. I always get very scared when I book tours, because so much can go wrong and it's hard to know if that tour is really worth it or not. There is absolutely nothing to complain about: extremely gentle guide and driver (Pablo and Oswaldo), tour with strategic and well-organized stops, delicious and well-served lunch, and about the tour itself: rarely have I seen places so beautiful in my life. Just play and enjoy!
Our day trip with Trout & Wine Tours to the Andes was a blast! We had the opportunity to see some amazing sights and experience the beauty of Argentina’s landscape. Our first stop was at the Potrerillos Dam, where we got out to take photos and enjoy the incredible views. We then headed to Uspallata for a quick coffee, tea, and pastry before continuing our journey into the mountains. Once we reached the mountains, our first stop was Puente del Inca, the natural bridge, where we enjoyed spectacular views of this natural wonder. From there, we drove a short distance to begin our hike at Aconcagua. It wasn’t a difficult walk at all, and with the sun shining, we had fantastic views of the mountain peak. Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch with wine ☺️ before beginning the long drive back. It was a lot of time in the van, so I would recommend bringing a portable charger for your phone. Overall, though, it was a wonderful experience. Our guide, Pablo, was knowledgeable and friendly, and Walter, our driver, kept us safe throughout the journey. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience this beautiful part of the Andes in a single day!
Hi! We are so glad that you had such a wonderful time . I will pass your kind words on to Pablo an Walter.
Tour through fantastic landscapes, excellent guides and new and comfortable vehicle.
The tour was excellent. We enjoyed it a lot and highly recommend it. Our guide Montserrat was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our driver was also excellent. We had a very enjoyable experience!
Hi Marcos , Thank you for your wondeful review Safe trip home
Beautiful walk. It is almost 200 km away from Mendoza, on a comfortable bus. Very good guide and driver. We stopped for coffee in a pretty place. From there we reached a point from which a demarcated path leads to the Aconcagua. We saw colorful mountains in a desert landscape. All very beautiful. On the way back we stopped at a natural geological formation called Puente del inca, very interesting. From there, on the way back, we stopped for a lunch included in the program. A long day of amazing landscapes.
Great time and our tour guide, Pablo, and driver Oswaldo, were great! Nice short hike with an excellent view of Mt Aconcagua.
Thank you Barry. Im glad it went so well. Safe trip home!
Highly recommend! Pablo our guide was very entertaining and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing lots of interesting history and fun facts. The whole trip was incredibly fun, professional and on schedule. The landscape was the most beautiful I have ever seen, with the walk very manageable and he kindly lent me a scarf as it was quite windy and cold. Oswaldo was a great driver - very safe, and opened the door for us every time. Could not speak more highly of this experience.
Amazing experience! Our guide, Ricardo explained everything about the mountains, people who live there, and their traditions. We were accompanied by Osvaldo, our careful driver. They served coffee with delicious medialunas, and lunch was a mouthwatering barbecue made in the traditional Argentinian style. I would definitely recommend this experience.
Thank you Julian. We're glad it all went so well. Aconcagua Park is unmissable and a good guide like Ricardo adds another dimension. Happy travels!
Absolutely amazing tour. Communication with the tour group was clear and responsive. Our guide, Exequiel, was amazing and very knowledgeable. The pacing of the day, with snacks, restroom breaks, and walking pace was fantastic. The food at the end was some of the best food I've had so far on this trip.
Thank you Kalissa. We try our best:)
