Step back nearly 3,000 years into the heart of ancient sporting glory. This sacred site hosted the first Olympic Games in 776 BC, and even today, the Olympic Flame is lit here before every modern Games. Wander through the Temple of Zeus, once home to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and visit the Temple of Hera, where the Olympic Torch begins its journey. Stroll the ancient gymnasium, athlete training grounds, and the original Olympic stadium—still echoing with the spirit of competition and once again used during the Athens 2004 Olympics. Run on the same track as ancient and modern athletes alike!
Deepen your experience with a visit to one of Greece’s most celebrated museums. Here, history comes vividly to life through the famous statue of Hermes by Praxiteles, timeless sculptures, treasures, and everyday artifacts, rich displays that connect mythology, athleticism, and divine heritage. It’s the perfect companion to the site visit, adding layers of meaning to the ruins you’ve just explored.
Enjoy your leisure time in the peaceful village of modern Olympia, home to fewer than 600 residents. Wander its cozy streets lined with local shops, family-run tavernas, and artisan boutiques, where you can savor Greek delicacies or find one-of-a-kind souvenirs to remember your visit.

There was something special about standing where the ancient Olympic Games once took place. It felt quiet and powerful at times. The group moved fairly quickly, and we sometimes wished we could pause longer. Still, a very meaningful experience.
booked from cruise, timing was perfect and no delay. guide professional. but not much free time to explore properly. you just follow group most time.
I travel alone, everything easy no problem. pickup simple and back on time. Olympia is nice but quite crowded with groups. Still good history place
we go with friends, everything smooth from port. bus ok and guide friendly. olympia interesting but lot of walking and sun was strong. wish little more shade stops maybe.
We walked slowly together, trying to keep the kids interested while also feeling the weight of where we were. Olympia is powerful in a quiet way. Even with the heat and the small rush between stops, there were moments where everyone just stopped talking and looked. Those moments stayed with us more than anything else.
Our guide, Maria, and driver, Nickos, were both excellent. Maria struck the perfect balance between sharing history, telling local jokes, and giving us time to explore on our own. We absolutely loved Athens, especially Plaka. The view from the hill was stunning, and the Greek food was finger-licking good! The Acropolis Museum was really interesting, and believe it or not, it had air conditioning. Also, our van in Athens had the best A/C compared to all the other Greek ports we visited. Nickos is an outstanding driver—very safe, professional, and friendly. It was an excellent tour from start to finish!
The tour was nice although the air conditioning was not super cold. That seemed to be the way most tour buses a/c blew however. The guide was informative
Thank you for your positive feedback! Regarding the A/C, please understand that driving on a highway in a northern state is quite different from short trips through a bustling Mediterranean city. Even in our modern Mercedes-Benz vans, it can be challenging to maintain a freezing temperature, especially when it’s over 100°F outside. We kindly ask you to keep this in mind when traveling in the Mediterranean. Best wishes from sunny Greece!
