Tomar Convent of Christ Private Day Tour from Lisbon

Description
The fabulous monumental complex of the Convent of Christ in Tomar is made up of a Templar castle to which was added a convent that over time grew in grandeur thanks to the contributions of the various monarchs who built new spaces there, enriched and embellished the complex with works of art and even endowed it with a majestic three-storey aqueduct 6 km long. The nine cloisters of the Convent of Christ rival the largest convents in the world. Like a history and art book, a visit to the Convent of Christ gives visitors an immersive insight into the main moments in Portugal's history, the evolution of architectural and artistic styles and monastic habits and mentalities. The Monument has been classified as a World Heritage Site since 1983. On this tour we'll also visit the Gothic-style Templar Mother Church of Santa Maria do Olival and have time to explore the historic center of Tomar and its monuments.

Henrique was a great tour guide, providing us with history and stories on the way to the sites. We learned a lot! My only suggestion is for him to perhaps implement a speaker system for his van so that those in the far back can hear his knowledge a bit better :)
Hi John Thank you very much for your comment. I really enjoyed meeting and accompanying you and your lovely family on this tour. I was very touched by your desire to know and understand the history of what we visited and I am only sorry that there was the difficulty you pointed out, but your suggestion will be quickly implemented. I wish you an excellent continuation of your vacation. Come back again! ;) Henrique
