Description

Titanic Trail Guided Walking Tour of Cobh Operating daily since 1998, this 1 hour gentle stroll through the heritage town of Cobh explores the diverse and magnificent history of Cork harbour, its environs and the architecturally preserved streetscape. The engaging narrative brings together the amazing maritime, emigrant and social history of the area. Cobh was the main departure point for millions of Irish emigrants to the US. Perfect length, knowledgeable and friendly guide. Catherine was great, warm and funny, even when the wind and rain was blowing hard! 😊

Excellent Titanic Trail Experience Enriched with Cobh Heritage Snippets

The Titanic Trail Experience offers an exceptional journey, seamlessly blending with the rich heritage of Cobh. Tom Foster, our outstanding guide, maintained a captivating narrative throughout the tour. He skillfully guided us through Cobh's history, incorporating crucial details about emigration, the Titanic, Cobh Harbour, and the tragic sinking of the Lusitania. This experience comes highly recommended for all enthusiasts.

A Titanic Overview and So Much More!

We were so lucky to have Dennis as our guide—a true ambassador of Cobh. He provided a wonderful overview of not only the history of the Titanic and its link to Cobh, but as a lifelong Cobh resident, he was able to weave in stories of a bygone time in Irish history. He told us one story of a fishing trip he had taken with his father and brother and from the boat, only being able to see the cross on Cobh’s church. He explained how his father told he and his brother that that sight was likely the last thing immigrants saw as they left their native Ireland for the new world. It, as well as do many of his stories, were extremely moving.

Making History Come Alive!

We had a wonderful Titanic Trail walking tour in Cobh recently with Tom as our guide. Since this was the last port for Titanic before setting sail for its fatal trip, there were many new things we learned. In addition, Cobh was the city where many of the dead from the Lusitania disaster were brought, so we learned many of those details. Great guide and great walking tour!

Brilliant walking tour

Absolutely brilliant walking tour. Our guide was so interesting, knowledgeable and being a local lad was genuinely proud of his home town’s history. I think he was ex navy. It really brings the history of the Titanic and the Lusitania to life when you hear the stories of the individual local people involved. Highly recommend.

Your trip to Cobh is not complete without this tour.

Excellent Titanic Walking tour! Tom Foster was our guide. We all think we know a lot about the Titanic but being in the place where people walked on the pier to start their journeys and seeing what they saw with your own eyes was quite an experience. It was more emotional than I expected. We also learned some revealing details about the sinking of the Lucitania. Tom was a very knowledgeable guide who also gave us a history of Cobh itself. Don’t hesitate to take this tour. It will really add to your experience of this special town.

History come to life!

Donnacha (I hope we remember and spelled this right) was a fantastic tour guide full of local knowledge of Titanic, Lusitania and his hometown of Cobh! He brought the history of the people, ships, and events that shaped Cobh into the home it is for him today. We could tell it meant a lot to him which made the tour and history so much more human. We highly recommend booking this tour!

Titanic’s Final Stop Comes to Life

I got to experience the Titanic Trail Guided Walking Tour in Cobh as part of my Irish Adventure tour run by CIE Tours (you can read my review of the amazing Irish Adventure tour on CIE’s TripAdvisor page). I am so delighted that I got to visit the Titanic Trail Guided Walking Tour. Cobh is a charming harbor town that feels like stepping back in time. Many parts still look much as they did in the 1800s. It was the final port of call for the RMS Titanic before its tragic voyage and the tour does a fantastic job bringing that history to life. The walking tour, created and conducted by historian Dr. Michael Martin, offers a small-group, intimate experience that makes it easy to follow along and ask questions. This tour was a really engaging and meaningful way to experience the town. I highly recommend it if you enjoy history and storytelling.

A must do in Cobh!

What an amazing tour and share of knowledge and experiences. Eddie was great. We were really glad we did the tour to better understand the personal stories behind the Titanic, Lusitania, and the town of Cobh. Tour was about 75 min with a little hill walking to the cathedral, and back down to the waterfront.
