A half-day hike guided tour in Tijuca Forest National Park, one of the biggest urban rainforests in the world. Our experienced guides will take you on an amazing adventure hiking up one of the most stunning summits in Rio. You'll visit Pedra Bonita (696m=2283ft) a popular lookout in the Tijuca Rainforest with amazing views to the coastline of the city and a view to Gavea Rock, the flat 'table mountain' in Rio that provides incredible picture opportunities. During the tour, you'll experience the nature and the feeling of being in the tropical rainforest. In addition to the fun and adventure our team will provide information and curiosities about the flora and fauna, like monkeys, quatis, and toucans, that may appear in the way. - Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
- Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
- Fitness required. EASY to MODERATE level hike. NO technical rock climbing, just hiking.
- Hike details: 3,5km=2.2mi (up and down rough terrain), approx. 2h, elev. gain 203m=667ft.
- Passport name, number, and date of birth is required at time of booking for all participants (for insurance).
- Subject to favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to bad weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
- Not recommended for child under 5 (must be accompanied)
- Maximum of 6 participants on the tour (or you can choose a private option)

What a fantastic tour and a great time we had with my daughter hiking with Luiza from JungleMe in Tijuca! We spent a fantastic moment with Riccardo hiking to Pedra Bonita, admiring the view from the top, seeing a sloth on the way and chatting about the forest and the life in Rio. Riccardo also nicely showed us waterfalls and the Chinese view which were not necessarily initially planned. He also helped us to rent a bike at the end of the tour when we changed our plans. We recommend JungleMe and Riccardo 200%!

If you’re wondering how to fill your days in Rio, think no more and book a Tijuca Forest tour and if possible with Riccardo!!! This half-day trip was the highlight of our time in Rio. The forest is absolutely stunning, but it was our friendly guide Riccardo who made it unforgettable. He is a walking encyclopaedia and so funny too. We learnt a lot about Rio & Brasil history & why the jungle is there in the first place. He made everyone feel at ease and genuinely special. It felt personal, relaxed, and full of great energy from start to finish. Highly recommend!
