Tickets for the Kecak Dance Performance at Uluwatu Temple

Description
Imagine sitting atop the high cliffs of Uluwatu, the sea breeze caressing your face, the sky slowly turning orange, and the sound of waves crashing beneath your feet. That's when the Kecak Dance begins—a Balinese cultural performance not just watched, but experienced with your whole soul. The Uluwatu Kecak Dance is more than just a traditional dance—it's open-air theater in nature, a blend of performance art, spirituality, and the power of nature. Without musical accompaniment, dozens of men sit in a circle, forming a distinctive chorus of "cak-cak-cak" sounds that are stomping, rhythmic, and captivating. They are not mere accompaniments, but part of the great story of the Ramayana—an ancient Indian epic that has become part of the soul of Balinese culture.

The good: They were able to get me two 6pm tickets for last night even though that show was sold out online elsewhere. They replied to my questions promptly. The bad: I didn’t receive the tickets until a few hours before the show, after I wrote them repeatedly. I had to figure out whether to book a private driver for 5 hours so it was stressful to wait for the tickets. Also, the instructions were not clear. At first they told me I would get the tickets until”on the spot”. I asked them to clarify the meaning of that. Then they sent me a pdf file of the tickets with a different agency name. I was also uncertain if I would forfeit the tickets or pay extra charges at the gate, because the ticket said my nationality is Indonesian but I am not. I wish all the instructions were sent clearly and tickets were confirmed earlier (not a few hours before show). It was a confusing experience.
We enjoyed the dance with sun setting in the background. The tickets were sent the day before the show and helped us skip the long queues. Overall a great experience and highly recommend it.

I tried booking online as it suggested to make sure I got in, I was told it's sold out via a WhatsApp link to buy tickets so I went to see the sunset from the temple and when I arrived it wasn't sold out and you could buy tickets there. I'm glad I decided to go and watch the sunset as I did see the fire show as well while visiting Ulawatu, the show was unusual and different and the fire show part was at the end of the show
"Thanks for the heads-up! It’s really helpful to know that tickets might still be available at the counter even if it says 'sold out' online. I was planning to go next week and was worried about booking. Glad you enjoyed the sunset and the fire show!"
