Your private guide and driver will meet you in your Tianjin downtown hotel or Tianjin Cruise Port at your request departure time, take you straight to the old French Concession area to visit the Porcelain House. Porcelain House (the China House) is a French-style building embellished by porcelain. Standing before the house, tourists will be amazed by the colorful chinaware cemented onto the wall. The windows, doors, pillars, eaves and roofs are all exquisitely decorated with different chinawares. Moreover, tourists will find beautiful porcelain decorations on the handrails, ceilings, and walls inside the house. The house is so extraordinary that it has no parallel in the world. Five Great Avenues knowned as “World Building Exposition”, Five Great Avenue in Tianjin is the most attractive humanities tourism destination which fully shows the city’s charisma and historical situation. Five Great Avenue refers to a rectangular region in the Heping District which is formed by five main streets crisscrossed: Machang Street, Munan Street, Dali Street, Changde Street and Chongqing Street from east to west. Glad to have make a day trip to Tianjin, since it is not far from Beijing via bullet train. My guide followed us from BJ and the journey was a breeze. Promptly picked up in TJ at the train station by the driver. We visited TJ eye, a Ferris Wheel that offered a great view of the city. Also visited this Old cultural street, which we enjoyed very much browsing around. We opted to have seafood lunch, at the recommendation of the driver. It was great. After lunch, we visited Porcelain house. For me, the highlight was the visit to China's last emperor Puyi's home, after he was forced to leave Forbidden City. We spent a lengthy time there as there are many exhibits to look at, as well as a video presentation of his life and political upheavals. On the whole, a well spent day.
We had a most fabulous day with Steven on our tour of Tianjin! He had so much knowledge and such goodEnglish...we were amazed at all he shared! Our timein the Ancient Culture Street was such fun! Steven helped us choose typical foods that we all enjoyed. He called the Emperor Puyi House and took us there. In addition we enjoyed a 50 minute river cruise of the city.
