An iron relic transported by ox-cart to this village, the cannon testifies to the over 460 local men who marched from Dulmial to serve and die in Europe’s distant, imperial war - the largest contribution from any single village in South Asia. Moreover, this region produced Sepoy Khudadad Khan, the first soldier from undivided India to receive the Victoria Cross in WWI. We will also visit a small museum in the village set up by veterans. The cannon is followed by a visit to a small museum set up by the veterans of Dulmial.

Built around a sacred pool, mythically formed from the weeping of Lord Shiva mourning his consort Sati, this stunning complex includes various Hindu temples.
