Thessaloniki Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems

Description
Most travelers think they’ve seen Thessaloniki after strolling along the waterfront or snapping a photo of the White Tower. But what if I told you that the real soul of the city hides in its backstreets, in the scent of roasted coffee, the laughter echoing from local markets, and the stories carved into ancient walls that most visitors never notice? Without a local by your side, it’s easy to walk past history without realizing it’s there. You might taste the food but miss the tradition behind it, or admire the ruins without hearing the legends that shaped them. Thessaloniki isn’t just a place to see, it’s a feeling to experience, and exploring alone means missing its most human side. That’s where the Walking Tour in Thessaloniki comes in. Your local guide tailors the route to what fascinates you most. You’ll visit the city’s famous sights and its secret gems, meeting the real Thessaloniki beyond the guidebooks.

Great tour, easy paced with all the information about city, it's history and culture. Great tips for restaurants and bars!
I thought it was a very nice experience and the guide was really knowledgeable however in Greece since it’s not a very diverse community of people from other countries, not everyone speaks perfect English so there were times where our guide struggled a bit to get the words out that she was trying to say, but overall, she did a really good job and I would recommend this tour to people.
The guide was very helpful and he gave a lot of Information about the city . He was also very friendly and ready to answer all questions .
The guide left personal reasons shortly after the tour started and could not be completed. The guide obviously was distracted by a personal problem and could not be very helpful.
Dear Oscar, We are very sorry that the tour could not be completed as expected. Unfortunately, shortly after the tour began, the guide received very sad family news and had to leave unexpectedly due to the situation. We completely understand how this affected your experience, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding during this unfortunate circumstance. Best regards, Manuel
After booking the 10.00 a.m tour, we were informed that the 10.00 a.m guide was not available and offered to go on the 3.00 pm tour instead. The 3.00 p.m guide mostly covered local food and shopping and only superficially the local history and culture that was our main interest. Lacking in interesting details and historic facts, otherwise a nice walk.
Esmeralda was a fantastic guide as we made our way around Thessaloniki. We were introduced to a variety of sites and experiences.
We booked the tour months in advance. The tour operator canceled the tour at 9 pm the evening before a 10:00 am tour.
Awesome tour, great guide! 10:10.
The tour gives a first overview
The tour guide did not show up and didn’t let anyone know. What kind of person does that. I hope there was a good excuse.
