Ultimate Kilimanjaro safaris- fantastic!

If you thought Ultimate Kilimanjaro was just for mountain climbing, think again. With the same logistical precision and professionalism, I had an amazing safari experience! The day after I came back from the mountain my guide and driver, Antony, picked me up at the hotel and drove me to Tarangiri National Preserve. The Lans Cruiser was large enough for 6 though I was traveling solo. There was a mini fridge in the back and we stopped for snacks and drinks along the way although there was water and juice provided. Antony had majored in ecology in college and is extremely knowledgeable about the animals and the environment. I learned so much about their eating habits, mating rituals, competition for food and mates, and how they raise their young among many other areas of information. As we drove along he told me about different cultures within Tanzania and about the history of the country, including government. I saw beautiful giraffes, wildebeests, warthogs, zebras, an elephant funeral (very sad but circle of life), also very active elephants, and some lively lions and lionesses, among many others. At lunch other tour companies provided a box lunch which people were eating on the ground. Not with Ultimate. A table was set with a table cloth, stainless plates and dishes, and a full hot lunch including fresh fruit for dessert. It was wonderful enjoying lunch in the midst of a beautiful safari setting! I noticed people looking on with envy at our lavish meal. That evening I was taken to a gorgeous lodge and a multi course meal was included. The food was outstanding. I had leg of lamb but there were fish, chicken, vegetarian, and beef entrees also. The desserts were delicious and I enjoyed a coconut tart and cake. The next day we went to Ngorongoro Crater for more safari, seeing some of the same but also many different animals like Cape Buffaloes, hyenas, gazelles, ostriches, and hippps. It was an incredible experience! Following that I was taken to a hotel near the airport and the next day I was dropped off for my flight to Zanzibar where I chose to end my journey. Ultimate Kilimanjaro goes above and beyond on every level! No need to think about it - they should be your safari choice!
