Description

If you like the nooks and crannies of an old town, then this self-guided audio tour is for you. You’ll take a step back into a distant past nestled within this bustling modern metropolis, and meet emperors, merchants, and even the aunt of an author! Along the way, you’ll discover why Frankfurt had to rebuild a lot of its old town, visit a reconstructed medieval courtyard, and find your way to Roman and Carolingian ruins. The tour also points out places that are free to visit and will keep you dry if it’s a rainy day! As well as places to stop for a quick nibble or a glass of wine. The landmarks include: • The stunning architecture of the old Hühnermarkt • A Renaissance house that cost 8 million Euros • St Paul's Church, the “cradle of German democracy” • Hidden post-modernist houses Let’s take a stroll into the heart of the old town together and look into all its corners and see what we find behind its facades.

It didn’t need to be so complicated.

It was crazy trying to download the apps needed and being transferred from one web page to another having to put in numbers. I tried to download the app needed even using a hotspot and it was going to take almost 2 hours. I couldn’t use the tour even though I paid for it.

Good info but glitchy to operate

I found this really difficult to get started and to follow the navigation. Maybe it's trying to be too clever? A simple map might be better but maybe it's just operator deficiency? Anyway, the info was good when I finally got it to work.

Great experience

Easy to follow. Narrator had good speaking voice. I liked that the app followed my location and it knew where I was.

Perfect solo activity!

This was perfect for a low stress, high impact hour of time. I took it slow with a few stops to eat a currywurst and ice cream. The information was interesting and the app kept me in the right locations. Well worth the price.

Fun to walk around and see the sights

The most memorable was the Roman walls. But I did enjoy the recreations of the old city almost as much.

Discovered a great new solo travel guide

First time I used self-guided audio tour with GPS feature and found it easy to follow and very informative. Definitely worth the price! Worked out great since I was traveling solo. You can go at your own pace and spend as much time at each stopping point as you would like. Got some great pictures from it too. Very enjoyable.

EXCELLENT FIRST DAY INTRO

Excellent introduction to Frankfurt. We did this first day and it is well worth it. It takes you around the streets in a loop, including back lanes with lots to see and learn about. Takes 35 mins so very good synopsis.
