Itinerary
The Arch of Charents, a vantage point from which, on a clear day, the view of Mount Ararat and the valley below opens. It is the ideal place for the first photos and to introduce the history and geography of Armenia.
Finally we reach the Geghard rock monastery, a UNESCO site of the 13th century, partly carved into the rock and famous for its acoustics. Here you will have time to visit the different churches, listen to the liturgical songs if any and breathe in the mystical atmosphere of the place.
From the Garni area we descend into the Azat river gorge to admire the “Symphony of Stones”, hexagonal basalt formations that create a natural organ effect. A short but scenic walk, perfect for photography lovers.
We continue towards Garni, where we will visit the only surviving Hellenistic pagan temple in the former USSR, with its Ionic colonnade overlooking the canyon. Here we will delve into the pre-Christian period and the role of the Armenian summer palace.
Arrival at Lake Sevan and ascent to the peninsula to visit the Sevanavank Monastery, famous for its black stone churches and spectacular views of the lake. Free time for photos and to enjoy the view.

An unforgettable experience in Armenia with Ciao Armenia My partner and I spent a wonderful day in Yerevan and choosing Ciao Armenia was the best choice we could have made, Alex and his son were more than just guides, magnificent people and very attentive to our travel comfort and our needs, an unforgettable experience, we went to the Khor Virap monastery, then we visited the oldest winery in the world and after that the caves where the men of the Caucasus settled, but arriving at the Noravank monastery was something grandiose, then finally we went to eat at a family-run restaurant where we ate real Armenian food, everything was delicious, an experience I recommend doing!!!!! Thanks to Ciao Armenia for the fantastic day!!!!!
Together we spent a wonderful day partially discovering a charming country. Alessandro's professionalism as a tour guide only partially describes the added value of Ciao Armenia; we truly appreciated his role as a mediator between two cultures and various historical eras. In addition to that, Alessandro is a fun guy always with a smile, continuously transmitting positivity, and this is a treasure. I highly recommend visiting Armenia, a country of immense culture, natural beauty, and wonderful people, and to do it with the car from Ciao Armenia! Thank you guys. We can't wait to return and see you again!! 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
The Ciao Armenia team made the Caucasian stay perfect! We participated in two tours, with perfect organization but also flexible to the needs of the participants. In a small group (6 people) in a minivan with Wi-Fi, with a driver, Leone, who was very kind and friendly, and a spectacular guide, Massimo, who, thanks to his background, did not limit himself to illustrating the beauties of the place but made the experience truly engaging and enriching, managing to help us grasp, with his experience as an Italian cooperator in Armenia, every nuance of the people, their culture, and habits, in addition to having an answer for each of our thousand questions, even about geopolitics. All in a light and cheerful atmosphere. Truly a top experience! Armenia is beautiful, but it is much more so with Ciao Armenia! Thanks to Alex for creating this wonderful reality!
We participated in two excursions with Alex, both were unique and extraordinary experiences. Alex was fantastic, very engaging and super accommodating. I recommend it to everyone who wants to discover Armenia in the most authentic way.
Everything was perfect.... They are engaging.... Professional.... but above all, you find friends who take you around Armenia. A beautiful land
