Throughout the experience, we will explore the roots of the World Happiness Index, tracing how Denmark's celebrated welfare system grew out of Nørrebro's historic working-class movements. Halfway through our walk, we’ll take a short break to fuel up on a delicious Danish pastry. Afterward, we'll visit the peaceful Assistens Cemetery to discover the final resting place of legendary Danes, including fairytale master Hans Christian Andersen. After soaking up the street art and community vibes along bustling hotspots like Jægersborggade and Blågårdsgade, we head towards the city center. We wrap up our group experience at Flindt & Ørsted inside the romantic Ørstedsparken. Here, we'll sit down for a well-deserved coffee break by the scenic lake that once served as the city's ancient defense moat.

We begin our journey in the bustling heart of Copenhagen’s historic Central Station. Standing beneath the legendary, massive wooden arches and the station's iconic meeting clock, you will feel the pulse of the city as locals go by. Here, we gather for a brief introduction before heading straight to the platforms to catch our modern and self driving metro.
We will go like a local and take the clean, modern, and self-driving metro from the meeting point to Nørrebro Station. The 10-minute ride is included in your ticket, making it the perfect, hassle-free way to start our neighborhood adventure.
This urban park is a celebration of diversity, split into three distinct zones: The Red Square (modern urban life), The Black Market (a classic neighborhood square with a Moroccan fountain), and The Green Park (perfect for a quick lounge on the grass). Having experienced most of the key sights in Copenhagen, we were looking to go a bit deeper and more ‘off menu’. This experience more than delivered. Our guide was part raconteur, part provocateur and part entertainer, and did a terrific job of showing us a different side of Copenhagen from a native’s perspective.

I booked this tour because I wanted to see a less touristy part of Copenhagen, and I’m so glad I did! I was the only person on the tour on a rainy, blustery morning (kudos to the tour company for not canceling.) The Norrebro neighborhood was very cool to see and explore. The best part of the tour was the guide, Maybritt. She was engaging and knowledgeable about the neighborhood, Copenhagen, and Denmark, but also went over and above the call of duty to really engage on a personal level. So much of the joy of travel is meeting and connecting with people from the country you are visiting, and I came away from this tour not just knowing more about Copenhagen and Denmark, but feeling like I’d made a Danish friend. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed our walk!! We had a great walking tour with Michael our guide. It was just my wife and me with him. Copenhagen is a beautiful city but with Michael we got to know one of the neighborhoods but more importantly about the culture and the people. This really helped us understand why Denmark is always rated as one of the most happy countries.

Walking through the coolest neighborhood in the world (according to Time Out Magazine), Michael showed us hidden corners, street art with real stories behind it, and local hangouts we would never have found on our own. He made Jægersborggade, Blågårdsgade and Stefansgade come alive with anecdotes about the people who shaped them - from young creatives to historic activists. One of my favorite parts was how he tied in Danish cultural icons like H.C. Andersen.
