The Q Train is an award-winning rail restaurant that travels along the historic Bellarine Railway between Drysdale and Queenscliff. We’re inviting locals and visitors alike to come aboard our restored carriages and enjoy a culinary journey through the Bellarine Peninsula. In our Private First Class Dining Compartments, guests enjoy five courses of local produce, each perfectly paired with a local wine, beer or mocktail. Dine, unwind, and let the scenery roll by.

The Q Train is a restaurant that travels along the historic Bellarine Railway between Drysdale and Queenscliff. The train usually departs from, and returns to, Drysdale Station, just an easy 15-minute drive from Geelong. However, on select services The Q Train departs from, and returns to, the Queenscliff Railway Station. Never before has Australia seen a heritage rail line used for showcasing local food, wine, beer and cider. We’re inviting locals and visitors alike to come aboard our restored carriages and enjoy a gastronomical journey unlike anything else you have experienced. We are serving local produce on every journey from the comfort of our refurbished dining cars; providing every customer with a delicious rail journey, and unique views of Swan Bay and the Bellarine. Wine and dine in style with The Q Train.

Me and my fiancé enjoyed today — absolutely beautiful experience. The food was a 10/10 and Shalia our waitress was an absolute delight. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special day out ❤️
An amazing experience. Wonderful food and service throughout. The menu was varied and well presented. The introductory comments on each round of drinks and food course from the waitress added to the experience. Highly recommended.
Amazing experience with delicious dishes. All staff, although young, were very accommodating, knowledgeable of all the dishes & beverages & most friendly. We had a hiccup with being seated in Q-class instead of Private carriage class & the matter was dealt with promptly. A+++ for service & definitely recommend the experience

Been thinking about doing the Q train for a while. Checked, they had private dining available when we were visiting the area so booked it. First off - staff and service were excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable and around if you had a request. Thanks to Daniel, Andrew and the rest of the team. Food was very good to excellent, wine pairing worked well and timings / portion sizes were just right. Will be back to try this again when the summer menu lands.

The Q Train first class was lovely. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with lunch on the train. The food was delicious (5 courses) and well prepared, however with the spring basket which included pate, you didn’t get enough bread. We had alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks which were paired with each dish but was lovely that you could swap them if preferred. I swapped a red wine with white wine as a personal preference. The journey from Drysdale to Queenscliffe is pleasant. The train moves quite slowly so you can enjoy your food and drink. The team were wonderful, ensuring your journey was a good experience but a couple of greeters/servers were inexperienced, still learning the art of providing first class customer service. This didn’t impact our experience as we can appreciate they are still learning. They were polite and well presented which was good to see. Knowledge about the menu and background of each dish/the history of local suppliers etc will come in time. Overall, I’d recommend the first class experience for a special occasion.

We had a wonderful day out on the Q Train. The train runs through a beautiful part of Victoria and we could’ve easily turned this into a weekend away. Experience is amazing, from the train itself to the food, to the staff. We were greeted by the friendly staff at the entrance and were treated to a drink of choice before getting onto the train. We are too lovely ladies looking after us, Georgia and Shaz. They were wonderfully attentive and made us feel really special. The food is wonderful with the five course meal and it was also great to be able to choose between a beer wine and mocktail with each serving. We had the cabin to ourselves. However, next time we would love to possibly do the same journey in the dining carriage with friends. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful experience.

We took the trip on a cool but sunny day. Our minds were blown when we were told the history of the train. My dining companion worked on the train when it was the Sunlander. The peaceful journey was the perfect way to enjoy the degustation menu with matching wines. Our waiter Vanessa Is knowledgeable about the menu and wines which are mainly sourced from the region. Highly recommend this trip
Unfortunately I find it impossible to give the new degustation a high score. I really feel they are trying to go very “with it”. I am sorry they don’t continue with nice normal, tasty dishes.
