Exhibition of mummies with lighting and their sarcophagi and accessories. Elements of ancient Egyptian culture but also modern. Quick visit
This modern museum gives an excellent overview of Egyptian civilization as per its name. It may well be overshadowed by the newly opened GEM, but this venue is of a manageable size. Excellent presentation with great signage in English. The mummies here from the Luxor tombs are spectacular and are thoughtfully presented.(No photos of them permitted) Clean toilets. Great café overlooking the lake. Allow a couple of hours.
Very good experience, we went without a guide and the truth is that we took a walk around the museum discovering every corner, it has an area where the mummies are, which by the way very interesting how they keep them since they have spent so many years. Then there is an area dedicated to ancient objects dressed ,papyri etc. The truth is that if you come to Cairo you have to go. Recommended
I had an extraordinary experience at the Egyptian Museum of Civilization. Its collection ranges from prehistory to the modern era, with real mummies, everyday artifacts and cultural treasures. Each room immerses you in the evolution of Egypt, offering a complete overview of its fascinating history. Highly recommended!
It stands out for its very important collection of royal mummies, very well explained. A modern museum that tells the story of Egypt in a striking way.
Modern and grand museum, not excessive but full of absolutely wonderful pieces. But the jewel of this museum, are undoubtedly THE MUMMIES. Indescribable, impressive, mandatory visit.
It is a very interesting museum as far as mummies go, very well exposed everything. At the top there is a good tour of the different times of Egypt. It doesn't contain much else.
I came after visiting the Valley of the Kings, the pyramids and a number of ruins, and I was impressed by how wonderful the exhibits were still. Egyptian civilization is terrible. I've seen the Egyptian Archaeological Museum, the pre-opening Grand Egyptian Museum, and I think this was the most spectacular. (I don't know if it will be when the Grand Egyptian Museum is fully open.) The mummy room is a sight to behold, so make sure to visit!
It was one the beautiful places that I visited. It was something nice to see the mummies there. It also has a good place to eat in.
Excellent place to evidence the evolution of different cultures in Egypt, the mummies area is great, the place they deserve, previously in the cairo museum was not appreciated as it should be.
