The Legendary Kölsch Brewery Tour

Description
The tour language needs to be selected separately, it doesn't equal the language of the homepage!! Our tour is a special look at what makes Cologne's Kölsch culture so special. While being led by our enthuasiastic guides, who double as passionate Kölsch consumers, you'll get more than just an idea of the beer, but also an idea of what makes Cologne tick behind the scenes and why our beer and our people are tied together. On the Legendary Kölsch Tour, you'll experience the best our beer, our stories and the people that made them possible.

Itinerary
Here we will meet to begin our tour with a brief introduction and a summary of the day's plan! Get to know your fellow guests and get ready to start your journey into Kölsch.
The second stop of our tour! We’ll begin our journey into beer tasting here as well with our first Kölsch of the evening, learning about the traditions of Cologne’s beers and the rules associated with drinking it. We’ll also learn about more about the famous brewery where the Mühlen Kölsch is brewed and which famous American became part of its story.
A little information on our most famous square and it's surroundings!
Our last stop of the evening, at this bierhaus, we will drink our last Kölsch of the night (or the first of many at our last brewery). Following a tasting of the Päffgen Kölsch, we’ll decide our favorites and learn about the folk hero of beer that oversees the bar.
On our second stop of the evening, you’ll have the chance to sample what by many is considered the oldest Kölsch in Cologne. Here we’ll learn about the strict brewing process that created our beer, the regulations it still must follow and follow the debate over who is allowed to even brew a Kölsch in the first place.
It would be a wasted trip to Cologne’s Old Town if we didn’t explore a little of its bizarre and interesting history. We’ll tell a few anecdotes about the past of Cologne to give you a better feel of how we are (and always have been) as a city.
A brief look at one of the most important Churches on Cologne's skyline.
At Peters Brauhaus, you’ll discover our arch-rival in brewing tradition (and more), learn about those caretakers of our beer and their unique mindsets, and sample our second included Kölsch of the evening.
Learning about where to drink and how much to pay is essential to understanding Kölsch. While experiencing the largest brewery in Cologne’s Altstadt, we’ll do just that and of course have the chance to sample a Kölsch.

Good guide - nice samples and pubs We went to three pubs on our tour - Peter's Pub was our favorite -
Travelled to 5 locations, first 3 beers are included in the price but last 2 need paying for by the group. We were a group of 8 with no others so was effectively a private tour. When booking we had to do a group of 5 and then a group of 3 as the process was limited to 5??? This was fine though. Alina was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and added to the experience. Lots of fun stories along the way too. Would definitely recommend to others coming to Cologne.
A MUST opportunity to learn about the Kölsch process and see some amazing off the beaten path sites tucked away in Cologne! Our guide, Marcel, was OUTSTANDING! Marcel explained all the intricacies of brewing Kölsch, and shared many amusing and informative details about his lovely city of Cologne.
I only had an afternoon to spend in Köln this time and I couldn’t have made a better choice. Learning about the brewing style and history behind Kölsch as well as several insights into the city from its relationship with Düsseldorf to the friendliness of the people living in Köln was truly remarkable. (One exception may be the Köbes, the servers in the Brauereis and Braühaus). We do try several different beers and even went back to have dinner at one (it was my favorite). If you only have an afternoon or a day in the city, I cannot recommend a better way to experience it with a little bit of fun.
Our tour guide Marcel was fabulous! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the venues that he took us to and the beers were delicious.
Our guide was amazing. She was funny and knew so much about the city and its history. She accommodated special requests from the group with ease. The waking was manageable and split up between breweries. Would highly recommend.
Our tour guide Alina was great! It was a lot of fun and tasted great! ☺️
That was a funny moment, Andrea is very a great guide, so i recommand this experience.
Our guide Izzy was awesome! we learned a ton about Koln history and Kolsch beer while visiting 5 beer spots. It was a fun and entertaining way to see cologne in a different way and meet some great people. highly recommend!
Our guide was a lot of fun. I couldn’t drink the beer for medical reasons but it was still very entertaining and informative. My husband enjoyed the different kolsch tastings.
