The Grimoire Ghouls and Graves: Galveston Ghost Tour

Description
Learn how lost souls from devastating catastrophes share the streets with spirits whose victims were the casualties of war and innocence lost. Join Galveston Ghosts and reveal a tragic history filled with unspeakable acts and learn how the trauma of the triad of war, oppression, and disasters spawned the most infamous ghosts and harrowing hauntings of the Lone Star State - the perfect location for sunshine, suffering, and ghost sightings. It comes as no surprise that this Gulf Coast Texas town began with a bang–a shocking shipwreck and a booming canon. Centuries later it would officially be settled, leading to the construction of Hendley Market, where you’ll discover a building filled with the memories and trauma from the bloodshed and deaths the Battle of Galveston left in its wake. A single cannon shot from the roof may be where it all began for this seaside town, but the haunted and iconic building is where it continues.

Itinerary
Finished in 1859, Hendley Row was the largest commercial building in Texas until the Civil War. The Hendley Market is a strange store with a lot of heart in Texas; guests will learn about the strange oddities, ghostly occurrences, and hidden history.
On Galveston's Top 10 "Most Haunted" list, this is the home of Dr. Horace Mayfield who was a 19th century physician that performed unorthodox experiments on his patients. Guest will learn about Dr. Mayfield's practices and the ghostly encounters of Mayfield Manor.
Once a hub of Galveston’s thriving commercial district, this historic building has seen its fair share of tragedy. Some say the spirits of long-gone businessmen still linger, with eerie footsteps echoing through empty hallways and lights flickering on their own. Others claim to have seen shadowy figures near the windows, as if former tenants refuse to leave.
Located in a historic building near The Strand, the Shark Shack sits on land steeped in Galveston’s dark past, including the devastation of the 1900 hurricane. Employees and guests have reported objects moving on their own, whispers in the air, and an eerie feeling of being watched. Some believe a restless soul from the storm’s aftermath still lingers, seeking shelter that never came.
Home to hundreds of artifacts, guests will have the opportunity to learn the history of the railroad, William Watson, and the residential poltergeist that still haunts this location.
Guests will learn about Thomas Jefferson League Building and the historical importance of this building to Galveston. Along with historical information regarding cast iron, guests will learn about some spooky haunted stories that have occurred throughout the years in this mercantile store.
