The city of Romeo and Juliet: A self-guided audio tour through Verona

Description
Verona is as timeless and romantic as the story of Romeo and Juliet, which takes place in its cobbled streets. On this self guided audio tour, you'll discover that there is more to the city than a tale of tragic love. We’ll leave the busy shopping streets and travel back in time, along the oldest Roman road in northern Italy. More than 2,000 years of history are reflected in the facades of its Roman and Medieval buildings, and there’s a mix of pragmatism and invention in the way old has been recycled into new. We’ll trace the shoreline of the Adige River too, taking in grand piazzas and picturesque alleyways. I'll also show you where to find the best Veronese cuisine along the way. The tour’s highlights include: • The arena where gladiators came to die • A glimpse at the houses of Romeo and Juliet • The Palazzi of the medieval powerhouse Scala family, as well as their private chapel and cemetery • The splendour of Piazza Erbe, the ancient Roman forum

We did the tour in our chosen time, enjoyed the story and the knowledge we received. The city was quite empty.
Such an awesome way to see Verona. All at our own pace. We were able to drink in our surroundings (literally 🤣) taking time to enjoy the views, cafes etc. The commentary was excellent and the directions easy to find. Totally recommend this app.
Excellent way to see the city at your own pace without a bunch of strangers tagging along. Instructions really easy to follow and the map shows you each step of the way.
Verona is an amazing city, its history, monuments and attractions complete a unique city. I recommend staying overnight in Verona.
What a nice tour, beautiful route and much more information than expected. I will definitely use this app more often
Great concept! Would do it again in other cities. The content was interesting and the authenticity of a local guide was appreciated
Audio tours are not ideal but good last minute way to get to know a city. It was not always clear where to go or what was being discussed.
The detail provided at each stop, the ability to go at your own pace, and the fact that the tour guide is a Veronese native all added to this experience. She provided history, cultural details, architecture specifics, details of the food and wine of the region as well as specific food and wine to try. She took us off the beaten bath as well as to all the main sights. Cannot recommend this tour enough — we loved it!
We went to the start of the tour but could not get it to work despite having downloaded it - a waste of money
Hi there, I'm sorry that you were unhappy with your experience. When you were having technical difficulties, did you contact VoiceMap support via email or telephone? We are contactable by both telephone and email, so if you have technical difficulties, please reach out to us so we can identify what is going wrong. Again, I'm sorry about the poor experience you had.
It rained but that didn't stop the tour. The guide made the best of the circumstances and even managed some laughter. Thanks
