Alex was knowledgeable, friendly guy. The tour ended after only an hour. As Zermatt is small perhaps this was all the time that was needed. The price we paid was too high for a 1 hour tour.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found Alex knowledgeable and friendly. After reviewing the tour with your guide, the experience lasted approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, not 1 hour. Throughout the tour, several additional stops, explanations, and optional detours were offered. However, on multiple occasions you chose to skip locations, declined further explanations, and preferred to move on rather than explore additional parts of the village. The tour was therefore adapted to your pace and interests. Also, Zermatt is one of Switzerland’s premium mountain destinations, and prices here are no secret. Guests who repeatedly focus on everything being “too expensive” may simply find that Zermatt is not the destination that best matches their expectations. It is also worth mentioning that although this was booked as a group tour, you were the only participants that day and therefore received what was essentially a private experience at the regular group rate—something many guests greatly appreciate. Unfortunately, instead of taking advantage of the guide’s local knowledge, stories, and recommendations, several opportunities for deeper insights were declined.
Abraham was a wonderful guide and knowledgeable about the town of Zermatt! He was very open to questions and stopped frequently for us to take pictures!
I am so pleased that we had the opportunity for this small group walking tour in Zermatt with our guide Remi! We scheduled it for the morning of our first full day in Zermatt and it worked out so well that we had already seen a little bit of the area the previous afternoon when we arrived. I can’t say enough about how friendly, knowledgeable, snd highly professional Remi was. We learned so much about the area…history, culture, food, architecture, mountain activities, etc. He shared stories and photos as we walked and was so engaging and personable! As it ended up, it was just my husband and I in the small group so the tour was very intimate which made the tour extra meaningul and enjoyable. A bargain by any standard! Remi is a native of the area so he knew lots of local lore and his conversation with us as we strolled thru Zermatt really made the town come alive for us. We would never have discovered on our own many of the people and places he discussed. Remi was absolutely delightful and we highly recommend him and Viator! Thank you, Remi!
Nice walking tour of Zermatt. Our tour guide Tony was there to meet us right on time. It ended up being just the two of us, so it was a private tour. Our guide told us many things about the town and local history. Easy to understand. Nice walking around town and seeing the old town. Saw some of the Matterhorn through the clouds.
This was a wonderful morning with an extremely knowledgeable tour guide and his apprentice. In our short time together we learned so much about Zermatt and about climbing the Matterhorn. We saw the climbers Walk of Fame, again which we didn't know existed. After the tour we wanted to take the train up to the observation site and our guide helped us get the tickets and our apprentice was doing that and even guided us up there. Excellent day!
Exceptional walking tour of village. So much history of Zermatt going back to 1800’s. Excellent guide…would highly recommend.
Thank you for your feedback. Was a pleasure to guide you through Zermatt
Our first visit to Zermatt and it proved to be a wonderful experience! Our local guide, Mike, is a delight to work with - a professional! His expansive knowledge is evident in tour itinerary. My husband and I were able to appreciate this well-known alpine resort not just for the tourism it represents, but more so for its history and cultural significance. This was truly an enjoyable and informative visit!
Thank you Neil - it was a pleasure to be your guide and thank you for your feedback. Hope to see you again!
Anton Imoberdorf (Tony) was a great tour guide. He started by sitting us down and explaining Switzerland with a map we kept. We learned some history and basics before walking around Zermatt. His English was great, he has a great sense of humor and put up with all our (a lot) questions. He even joined us for the Matterhorn Museum which we had planned to visit later that day. We learned so much about Switzerland and Zermatt, which we never would have learned just walking around ourselves.
Thank you for your feedback Lesley and I forwarded it to our tourguide.
had a nice walk through Zermatt. good for first time visitors. was easy walking (there are no cars anyway). Value for money is ok, as it was really a local guide.
Thank you Evans for this straight review.
The time was actually too short, because it was interesting to listen to Toni. So many stories and references to the village that is so completely touristy. But we saw a few places where there were no tourists and that's exactly what we were looking for.
Thank you for the feedback, already forwarded to the tourguide.
