Memorable tour

One of the highlights of the tour was visiting Wimberley Valley Winery. Their rare blue wine was something truly unique and unlike anything I had seen before. The drive through the Texas Hill Country was beautiful, with rolling hills and plenty of wildlife along the way, including deer and other animals. The BBQ stop was the perfect way to finish the day with some authentic Texas flavor. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend!

Hill county tour

Had an amazing time on the Texas Hill Country Wine & BBQ Tour! One thing I really liked was the pickup location at 7-Eleven. It gave everyone a chance to grab snacks, drinks, coffee, or use the restroom before heading out for the day, which made the start of the trip very convenient. The wineries were beautiful, the wine tastings were excellent, and the BBQ stop was a perfect Texas experience. Everything was well organized, relaxed, and enjoyable from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Austin!

Barbecue and wine tasting!

I really enjoyed visiting the vineyards on this tour. The wineries were beautiful, and the wine-tasting experience was the highlight of the day. Unfortunately, my experience at Salt Lick was disappointing. The sides were not very tasty, although the meat was good. My biggest concern was the payment process. Our group consisted of about 10 people, many of whom were complete strangers, yet the restaurant would only split the bill four ways. This created a very awkward situation where we had to exchange Cash App and Venmo information, put charges on one person's card, and then reimburse each other. This is something tour participants should be made aware of in advance so they can plan accordingly. I was also uncomfortable with the meeting location. We were instructed to meet at a 7-Eleven in an area that felt unsafe, with several homeless individuals nearby. In addition, we had to leave our vehicles parked on the street in paid parking spaces for the duration of the tour, which was concerning. Overall, the vineyards made the trip worthwhile, but there are several logistical issues that could be improved to provide a better experience for future guests.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed the vineyards and wine-tasting experience. Regarding the meeting location, we understand it may seem unusual if you’re not familiar with how many tour companies operate in Austin. The 7-Eleven serves as a convenient meeting point where guests can purchase snacks, use the restroom, and gather before departure. Similar pickup arrangements are commonly used by many tour operators in the area. As for Salt Lick, each guest is responsible for paying for their own meal. While guests travel together, individual food bills are not combined or split by our company . We appreciate your suggestion and will consider providing guests with more information about the restaurant’s payment policies in advance so they can plan accordingly. Thank you again for joining us and for taking the time to share your experience. Your feedback helps us continue improving the tour for future guests.

Poor service/trip cancelled at last minute

We came from the UK and pre booked this tour on 13th May. We’re only in Austin for 4 nights. We arrived at the meeting point about half hour before departure time and nobody turned up. We called the tour company several times and it went straight to voice mail. When we went back into our booking it had been amended to 12th June when we won’t even be here. No communication to let us know. We contacted Viator and they were also unable to contact the tour company. We wasted money on an Uber to get to the meeting point. Very disappointed with this service.

Operator response

Hello, and first of all I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment during your visit to Austin. Our tour departs strictly at 10:30 AM, and on that day we also had other guests already present for the same experience, so we had to proceed with departure. I would also like to clarify that suppliers do not have the ability to change guest booking dates on Viator. Only Viator can modify reservation dates on their platform. If any date change was made after the reservation time was missed, then it would have been done through Viator. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
