Tequila Mixology Masterclass

It was an incredible mixology experience, I highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout. We tried five different types of tequila while learning about their origins, how to identify a certified bottle, and the differences between commercial and authentic tequilas, which was really interesting. We also made two delicious cocktails and were served a cochinita pibil snack that was absolutely amazing. The place is very cozy, and the bartender’s talk made the whole experience even more special. We enjoyed one of the tequilas so much that we ended up buying a bottle! it was truly exquisite. Definitely an experience worth trying.

An Unforgettable Tequila and Cocktail Experience at SOM I didn’t know exactly what to expect when I booked the tequila tasting and cocktail class at SOM, but I left completely blown away. We started with a guided tasting of three tequilas from Casa Mexa, each with its own unique character. The first was Tequila Mexa Barranca, an artisanal tequila from Jalisco with those classic, traditional flavors we all love — cooked agave, herbal notes, a hint of minerality… absolutely delicious. Next came a tequila from Tamaulipas, which was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Wilder, earthier, with a bold personality that stood out in the best way. And then came the star: Tequila Mexa Tahona — hands down the best tequila I’ve ever tried. Smooth, complex, and incredibly refined. Just perfect. After the tasting, we moved on to the cocktail session, which was just as exciting. We first made a cocktail with Mexa Barranca and a hint of spice — super fresh, bold, and totally unique. But the showstopper was the second cocktail: a smoky coffee tequila drink with a rich, foamy top — like a dessert in a glass. It was mind-blowing. SOM doesn’t just serve premium Mexican spirits — they offer a full experience that blends tradition, creativity, and flavor. 100% recommended for anyone looking for something authentic, different, and truly memorable.

This cocktail class was amazing. Jimena lead our cocktail class and she was the best (sorry the name might be spelt wrong). She was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. I said I didn’t like the ingredients in the second cocktail so she created one that I could make with different ingredients and it was amazing. She has competed in cocktail competitions and has ranked very high in them so you know she knows her stuff. The drinks we made were simple enough to learn but tasted amazing. It’s well worth staying to have a few more cocktails at the bar after as the cocktail list was out of this world.

The bartender was great!! Very knowledgeable! The whole experience was a lot of fun! Totally recommend!!

Great experience to go with friends, learn how to prepare drinks and meet new people. Super host and the place is incredible.

The Escape Room Entrance is so much Fun and the Cocktail workshop is so much Fun. I'm not a huge fan of Tequila but all cocktails in this workshop were fascinating and the host is a great Guide while making the cocktails.

The place is Awesome and the cocktails are really well balanced. We also learned a lot about tequila. Overall it was a really fun experience and I made new friends

Best class I have ever taken in Mexico City! The escape room before entering the speakeasy was so fun and entertaining and really got the night started! The speakeasy itself it’s filled with beautiful decor and has many great picture spots for guests! My class was the only group of people in the bar, so it was a nice private event. The mixologist had much knowledge on liquor and drinks and I learned many new facts. All the drinks we make were amazing and we even were able to make our own creations at the end. I made sure to use the cold foam that the speakeasy is known for on top of my drink. Overall, it was such a fun night and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good time!
