It is a huge monument. It is almost overwhelming. I agree with travelers who recommend visiting in late afternoon or early evening.
A true pearl of 18th Dynasty architecture, the triumph of Amenhotep III and his successors, there is also a very rare statue of Tutankhamun and Ankhesenamon, of the purest elegance, connected to the gigantic temple of Karnak by an avenue of sphinxes of almost three kilometers, finished excavating in recent times and now easily accessible. Smaller and more collected than Karnak, it is perhaps even more exciting, the cell for solar worship of the Pharaoh transmits an incredible emotion. The price of 500 Egyptian pounds, 10 euros, is really affordable.
Especially beautiful in the evening mood and under lighting. The Double Temple is one of the most important sights in Upper Egypt.
Very breathtaking spiritual capital of Egypt for over 15 centuries. It was built almost 4000 years ago by Amenhotep 111 and Ramses 11. Once you pass the massive pylons you can admire the ancient hieroglyphs. There is also the Great Court of Ramses 11, with a tribute to his 17 soms.
Egypt and its pyramids are amazing. Thousands of years after building still standing, with help. A must to see. One of the greatest sites in the world.
Historic ruins of the great temple of Luxor and the avenue of the sphinxes that connected it to temple of Karnak in ancient Egypt. Beware of locals hanging out and pointing to beast places for photos/ etc - they expect a tip for their “help”
Another simply marvellous site full of interest and well worth spending time taking in all the site has to offer. certainly helps having a good guide to hand!
Fantastic site, lots of interesting changes in political leadership reflected in the various artwork and architecture. For its age, and exposure to the elements the colours are amazing to see. So is the scale of work. Easy to walk around, best to go late in the afternoon.
Beautiful temple to visit Numerous columns, hieroglyphic To do the day but especially not the show in the evening "sound and light"
This complex ir quite large and there are lot of paintings with christian influence . Was under the contol of the Roman empire
