Foodie Tour great value

A great tour with plenty of food so well worth the money! We brought our stop three sandwiches home and ate them in the evening. They were still delicious! Jenn was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable of the history of Georgetown. There was a total of eight of us on the tour, including one kiddo. Jen was accommodating to a few special food requests! Unexpected rain led to Jen loaning us her umbrella which was so very much appreciated!

Operator response

"Thank you so much for this! We love hearing that the sandwiches were still delicious hours later - that is the highest compliment. Jenn is such a wonderful guide and it sounds like she was in her element that day, from working around the special food requests to the impromptu umbrella rescue. We hope to see you, your group, and that kiddo back on another Blue Fern tour soon! 🌿"

Tour canceled on us last minute!

While we were sitting at the meeting point for the tour, we received a message that the tour was canceled. REALLY?! I appreciate that the refund process was relatively simple, but we really wanted to do this Georgetown food tour. :(

Operator response

"We are so sorry to read this - getting a cancellation message while already at the meeting point is genuinely awful, and your frustration is completely valid. If this was our Blue Fern Travel Georgetown tour, please know the cancellation was due to an unexpected family emergency with our guide that we only learned about at the very last minute, which is why we weren't able to give more notice. We reached out to all affected guests with full refunds and gift certificates for a free future tour, and we want to make sure you were taken care of. We would love to have you on a Blue Fern tour when the time is right. 🌿"

Great Tour of Georgetown

Richard was a very good tour guide. The food was very good, and the information was very interesting. The tour costs a little bit more than the other food tours in D.C. but we sat down at two restaurants during the tour and there was a lot of food. Very much worth the price.

The Georgetown food tour...

The Georgetown food tour was great. We were offered a variety of foods from locally owned restaurants. There was something for everyone. The interesting history tidbits that were shared throughout the tour were fun and informative. My family learned a lot. We are already planning a trip back to one of the restaurants on the tour.

Operator response

Thank you so much for this lovely review, Tonya! We're so glad the whole family found something to love in Georgetown — that's exactly what we aim for. It means a lot to hear that the history and the food both landed well. And the fact that you're already planning a return visit to one of the restaurants? That's the highest compliment. We hope to see your family back on a Blue Fern tour soon! 🌿

Unfortunate circumstances.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to go on the experience, as the guide never showed up. We went to the designated spot to meet, met the other couple that had paid for the tour as well, and the guide never showed up. We contacted Viator, and we contacted the tour provider, both of whom were surprised that the guide had not shown up. We were at that location for almost an hour before we realized that the guide was never going to show up. The high star rating is because they handled the situation so very well. They had no clue as to where their guide was and this worried them. They were as frustrated as we were. Our fees were promptly returned to us, and they even covered our Uber ride over to the location. The tour company has also promised us vouchers that we can use on a future tour. Now those haven’t been delivered yet, but I’m sure they will be as their credibility is real high with me based on the warmth and caring they showed for their employee and for their guests. Even though we never took the tour, I have confidence that it would’ve been a really good tour and I am sad that we didn’t get to do it. We were out of time on this visit to our nations capital and we had to go.

Operator response

Thomas, excellent customer service is something we take seriously at Blue Fern — and while we're disappointed things went sideways on this visit, we're really glad we were able to show you that side of us, even if we didn't get the chance to host you on the tour itself. We genuinely look forward to welcoming you to Georgetown properly one day soon. 🌿

Great way to get an overall look and feel of Georgetown plus try some eclectic food locations.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and hospitable all along the walking tour. It had just the right amount of walking and sightseeing and also cute/local places to eat. Plenty of food and exposure to delicious food that I would not normally order. The only feedback is that some of the food options were geared around food restrictions of an accompanying ‘guide in training’ , as we had no food restrictions. That was a minor thing and didn’t really detract from the overall experience . I still highly recommend this tour.

Operator response

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear the guide made such a great impression — knowledgeable, hospitable, and striking just the right balance. We love that you tried food you wouldn't normally order; that's exactly the spirit of Georgetown. We appreciate the honest feedback on the food selections as well — it's helpful and we take it to heart. We hope to welcome you back to a Blue Fern tour soon! 🌿

Great knowledge of history and food!!

Joe was an excellent tour guide. He really knows his history about the beginnings of Georgetown and was so pleasant. The food tastings were full portions and very delicious. Well worth taking this tour. Have an empty tummy before you go!

Operator response

We love this, Martha — and we couldn't agree more about the empty tummy advice! Joe brings so much genuine passion for Georgetown's history, and we're thrilled it came through. Full portions, great stories, and a pleasant guide — that's exactly the Blue Fern experience we work to deliver every time. Hope to see you back on a tour soon! 🌿

Jenn was so pleasant and...

Jenn was so pleasant and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the different foods along the tour. Surprisingly the potatoe tacos were amazing as well as the pizza and creme brûlée. We had to take the 3rd stop food home with me which I ate later that night. That too, was very delicious! I definitely recommend!

Operator response

Taking the food home for later is honestly the best compliment we could ask for! We're so glad Jenn made such a great impression — she really does bring so much warmth and knowledge to every tour. Potato tacos, pizza, AND creme brûlée… Georgetown never disappoints. We hope to see you back on a Blue Fern tour soon! 🌿
