Great way to start my trip in Baku with my guide Ali who was very helpful and informative with the food, history and recommendations Went to a few different places around old town and the centre, each restaurant was very nice in its own way I always like trying traditional foods in new countries and recommend this tour for certain, the food was all delicious and Ali was brilliant
Thank you Jacob! Very humbled to have you with us and deliver a pleasurable dining experience. I hope to see you in Baku again!
It was great to try some street food and a full meal in a real cool restaurant, They knew exactly what to order and explain the food and drinks history
Although Baku doesn’t really have a street food scene, the tour still covers Azerbaijani cuisine through restaurants. All parts are covered: from appetizers, main course, and drinks. They are all equally tasty. Ali is a fantastic guide with deep knowledge on the country’s history & culinary info. I would recommend this tour for everyone as a starting point for food adventure in Azerbaijan.
A great evening with Mirhashim as a guide, visiting several restaurants and trying delicious Azerbaijani dishes. The tour took us through parts of the Old Town, and ended with learning to drink tea with jam. A terrific experience overall.
Ali took me to three places. At the first place, we ate qutab (thinly rolled dough, filled with either greens or meat). At the second place, I ordered a dovga (a kind of yogurt soup) and a sabzi plov (rice with greens) with lamb. At the third place, we had some tea with jam - a great way to end the evening! Ali gave a great overview of the various influences on Azerbaijani cuisine (Turkic, Persian, Russian) and we had great conversation for several hours. Thank you, Ali!
This was such a great experience and tour, and I glad that we did it on our 1st night in Baku. It gave us a solid foundation to understand the local cuisine and culture, which came in very handy for the rest of our stay in Baku. The restaurant and food choices were excellent. Our tour guide Riad was truly amazing. Over and above being an amazing tour guide with deep knowledge on Baku and its local cuisine and culture, he is a very knowledgeable person, who is both kind and helpful. We conversed about various global topics and issues, it was like have dinner with a friend we had a known for ages. I truly recommend it for anyone traveling to Baku and would suggested that it be your first tour to learn and know more about the cuisine that you would be seeing and tasting throughout your stay
I had an awesome tour with Mirhashim! At first, I was skeptical of booking because of the lack of reviews and price point, but I can say I was very glad I went. Mirhashim was a fantastic guide and I felt like I learned a lot about Azerbaijan food, history, and culture. I also came away the tour stuffed.
Ali was a fantastic host. Made excellent food recommendations and we had great conversation on culture and life in Azerbaijan. Would highly recommend
I absolutely loved this food tour!! My guide Riad was so wonderful. His English was incredible and we had some great conversations, I learnt a lot about Azerbaijani food and culture, and as a solo female traveller he made me feel incredibly safe too.
Learned so much from Hashim! Learned so much about the history of Azerbaijan & its cuisine. Would do it again. The tour was such a treat.
