Itinerary
Your journey begins at Republic Square, the bustling heart of Belgrade, at 10:00 AM. From here, we’ll head to the Dorćol neighborhood, where coffee isn’t just a drink—it’s a ritual. You’ll experience the Serbian way of enjoying coffee, where it’s about savoring the moment and sharing a lively conversation. Sip on a strong, perfectly brewed cup, and if you love it, you can take some beans home as a reminder of this local tradition.
Once you're energized, we’ll wander through Bajloni Market, one of the oldest and most vibrant green markets in Belgrade. Here, you’ll get a true taste of the city’s culinary diversity, with fresh ingredients that form the backbone of Serbian cuisine. Along the way, we’ll stop at a bakery for some freshly made bruschetta - perfectly paired with a selection of local cheeses you’ll taste at the market.
The tour continues at Belgrade’s oldest pastry shop, where you’ll indulge in sweets that are a beautiful mix of Serbian, Ottoman, and European influences. These pastries aren’t just delicious—they’re a reflection of the city’s complex history and cultural blend. OPTIONAL: For those wishing to extend their tour, the real highlight awaits - lunch at a modern restaurant that merges Serbia’s agricultural roots with cutting-edge culinary techniques. The menu celebrates locally grown ingredients, prepared with a fresh, contemporary twist, and beautifully presented. It’s a perfect way to see how Belgrade’s food scene has evolved while still honoring its rich traditions. At the end of the tour, your guide will ensure you're well-equipped to continue exploring the city on your own or help you find your way back to your accommodation, leaving you with a full stomach and lasting memories.

We started our tour with a relaxing (and much needed!) coffee break where we had domestic coffee. Our guide, Katarina, was very personable (we felt like she was like a family member or close friend!) and answered all our questions about Serbian culture and daily life. We then went to a nearby bakery to sample some traditional baked goods (and bureks) and then visited a pastry shop for some fresh cakes and lemonade. We ended our tour with an 8-course lunch with incredibly creative and delicious representations of the new Balkan cuisine. We highly recommend this tour to future visitors!

Jelena was a wonderful guide. She had a lot of great insights about life in Belgrade and how Serbians like to enjoy food. We went first to a coffee shop for some traditional coffee, then to the local market for some great tastings. After that we had some sweet pastries baklava at a bakery. The las stop was at the Iris restaurant where I had a eight course small bites lunch. It was delicious and the wine pairings where excellent. The best part of the tour was learning from what Jelena had to tell. She was incredibly nice and open to all kind of questions. A highly recommended experience

What a fantastic way to explore the food of Belgrade! The history of the food plus 8 courses of New Balkan cuisine to help you understand what Belgrade has to offer! Thank you Jelena for a very informative and filling day!
Dear Carol, it was such a pleasure to be your host! Like I know you for a long time! I hope we will have chance to meet again. And thanks for confirmation that we done great job by making this concept of tour which has more and more fans! Huge greeting from Belgrade to Denver!

This trip is an absolute must. Our guide Jelena from Serbia Tours was simply fantastic. She met us at our hotel and took us on a walking tour of Belgrade to see the sights and sounds of local markets and cafes which we would not have discovered on our own. Great tasting experiences - local coffee, pastries, cakes, breads and drinks and in the market, cheeses, honey, fruit, nuts and meats. Brilliant. Don't eat too much however as the best is yet to come.
We were whisked to the other side of town and a hidden gem ! Restaurant Iris. What an amazing experience. 8 course menu prepared before our eyes to introduce us to New Balkan Cuisine. Wow wow wow. Go and find this place. Off the beaten track and one flight up a staircase that takes you to what at face value appears to be a residential apartment. It was and is now a restaurant with minimal decor so that guests can only concentrate on the amazing dishes that are presented to you throughout the visit. THREE WORDS..GO GO GO !
Can not recommend enough ! Such a brilliant experience. You will not be disappointed. Jelena ate with us and provided us with lots of information about the city, its culture and history. She also provided amazing tips for the rest of our time in Belgrade. This trip is a MUST.
