Dancing fantastic. Service poor.

It was not the location my travel company had adver so i was disappointed when we arrived at the location. And then i was put on a table with strangers from a different country which as a single person was awkward. Had to share wine with them. I ordered beef cheeks, was given fish. When returned it , still didn't get the beef cheeks but a milinase I think they struggle with English, although I pointed as well as used Spanish. However the dancing was fabulous. But, long speeches, clearly with jokes all in Spainish so the show felt long for non Spanish speaker. Some people left early because of that. At end I felt I was being hassled to tip. The others on my table had already left before the end without tipping and because I didn't get what I ordered I didn't tip but there was a bit of pressure to tip. I do tip normally but I felt let down because I wanted the beef checks but was given fish then milanese. Also no communication about transport back to hotel so left milling around. But. , over all I was glad I went. The tango was fantastic

Good afternoon We appreciate your comments, they do not help us to improve our service. We are surprised that you were served a milanesa as it is not something that is done in any tango show. We will contact the tango show to find out what happened. It would be helpful for us to know the date on which this reservation was made as we cannot find it in our records.

Great tango show, average food, dishonest pricing

A really great tango show. Very professional, performed with enthusiasm, nicely presented. Highly recommended! Dinner less than average. Food ok, served with cheap wines. The server was pretty good until just at the end of the dinner when he asked for a $10 tip per person, on a $50 dinner price. So 20% tip for an ok service at highly overpriced (for Argentina) dinner. You can eat well at a good restaurant for US$60-70 for two. Skip it if you can. Just the show. The pricing feels like a scam. The hotel told us it would be US$120 per person for the show and dinner ($50), and peso price will be quoted based on the credit card rate (mep rate). When we came, we were told that the peso price is calculated on a much higher rate (way more than the going “blue” market rate). Converting this back to dollars at the going market rate the price for two was about $30 more. Overall not a very big deal, but we felt duped. A round trip transportation is included, nice.

Thank you for your comments and time. We are sorry to hear that you were not 100% satisfied with the tour. On the other hand we inform you that the rates are correct, the values are in dollars and the exchange rate applied is the MEP dollar, which is not the official dollar. The receptionist of your hotel, gives his opinion without knowing, if he wants to dedicate himself to tourism, he should enrol in the university, study the career, invest, set up an agency and then give his opinion. The rates that you paid are the ones that you agreed and accepted at the time of purchase. Please note that the exchange rate that will be applied will depend on your credit card and your bank. Michelangelo's service is one of the best shows in town, it reopened less than a year ago, all its facilities have been renovated. The gastronomy is among the best in the city and as for the wines, they are not cheap, quite the opposite. On the other hand, the wines they serve have been awarded among the best in Argentina. Dinner is a la carte and offers a variety of options. As for tipping, it is something alien to us, but in high-end places, it is customary here in Argentina to provide at least a 15% tip for the service, because as you know more than half of the salary of the waiters, comes from tips. Sometimes it is easy to give an opinion by letting oneself be carried away by other people's opinions or suggestions. It is the first time that someone has been displeased by the tour. Maybe they would have other expectations, but keep in mind that all tango shows are different. If you have never been to one, it is good to know that. The service clearly did not deserve a 3 star rating.
