Brady was an excellent tour guide for Tambo Colorado! It was very easy to find JD tours near our cruise ship. Jose greeted us and introduced us to Brady. He explained the rich history of the area, and answered every one of our questions on the drive out there. His energetic tour took us back hundreds of years to understand what it was like when the Inca arrived at this resting place off the Incan road. When the cruise ship changed the location for the shuttle buses, Jose personally guided us to the new location and made sure we were aboard the shuttle bus before leaving.
Excellent. Fabio was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very informative and interesting. Make sure you have comfortable shoes.
Fabio was wonderful! We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. His love for his country and knowledge of his site was fabulous.
Tambo Colorado was the only destination of the tour but the entrance fee was not included in the tour price. The entrance fee was listed as $1.5USD on Viator but we were charged $5USD by the tour operator. Also, the time management of the tour was poor. The start of the tour was delayed by 20 minutes because the tour bus was late. We were promised to be back to the cruise ship by 1:30 to 2:00 pm. We were not back to the port till 2:45pm when our cruise was leaving at 3:30pm. The traffic was normal that day. If there was any traffic delay, we won't be able to get back to the cruise ship on time. The tour guide was nice and helpful but inexperience.
A good way to see some of the countryside and Inca ruins in a smaller group than those that the cruise ships run. We were collected from the port, after we left the ship Jose was waiting for us, contrary to the ship saying the bus shuttle to town was mandatory. Excellent communication at all times by Jose and the Company Las Adventures, we did run a bit late due to it being a public holiday and very busy but that was not the fault of the company. Eduardo our guide was very knowledgeable
There were some last minute changes (a bit more notice would have been helpful but these things happen) but we were kept fully informed and the pickup was faultless. Flavio was a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who kept us entertained and informed on the hour-and-a-half journey in the minibus. The small museum gave a useful introduction, and the Inca site itself was vast and very impressive. Our group of eight had the site to ourselves, which was very nice. Overall a very worthwhile experience.
