Next you will travel Pingjiang road, located in the heart of the old city, Pingjiang Road is the best preserved and largest scale historical street in the area. With a history of 800 years. When you walk in the Pingjiang historical block, the road was still the old paved roads; the river was still green and clear and the residence was still as quiet as before. Waling on the Pingjiang road, you can see all the scenery was as beautiful as a painting. One of the best ways to enjoy the charm of Pingjiang Road and its surroundings is by taking a traditional boat ride along the canals. Local boatmen often row you through the narrow water lanes, giving you a different perspective of the area. It's a relaxing and picturesque way to explore the old town of Suzhou.
Pingjiang road is also brimmed with stores and restaurants selling Suzhou-style crafts and cuisines. Our guide will arrange local food for you as lunch.
Next head to Panmen Gate, Pan Gate is part of the ancient city wall built in 514 BCE that surrounded and protected Suzhou. Pan Gate was the only entrance to the wall that surrounded ancient Suzhou. It is also known in China for its architecture. It is so famous for its complex of both land and water city gates that many times, people directly refer to it as the "Land and Water Gate". In order to attract more tourists, in recent years, the city of Suzhou has renovated the old wall and built many other attractions around the original gate in the Pan Gate Scenic Area.
Next you will travel Shantang street, Shantang Street, also called Seven-mile Shantang, is a prosperous ancient street block built in 852 AD. Visiting this old place, you will see many featured old houses selling local food, delicate handicrafts and feel the real flavor of old Suzhou and Wu culture in ancient times. After Shangtang street, you have a good tour in Suzhou. Our guide and driver will take you back to your hotel, railway station or other suzhou place.

Was supposed to have an English guide but Grace's English was very poor. 90% of tour was in silence. When questioned at the different sights she checked her mobile and showed us the auto translation. After about 8 hours we still didn't know much about Suzhou history, present or lifestyle because when asked, she either didn't answer the question or didn't understand them. After a while it was just too tiring asking her anything. She is also ignorant of where the restrooms were at the railway station, the gardens and the Panmen gate. At one point we had to scramble past road railings to get to the car at the bus stop. Her inexperience was so evident. Very disappointing tour!

We would also like to clarify a few points mentioned in your review: Restroom arrangements: We followed the volunteers’ guidance and accompanied you via elevator to a nearby, cleaner restroom, which you acknowledged at the time. Flower identification: When you inquired about a flower in the garden, we used a plant identification app to confirm it was a Green Calyx Plum and shared the information with you immediately. Railing situation: After the restroom visit, we suggested stepping over a low railing to avoid a lengthy detour back to the vehicle. This was intended purely for convenience and did not pose a safety concern. We take great pride in delivering attentive and responsible service. It is therefore disappointing to see aspects of your experience described in a way that does not fully reflect the situation. Nonetheless, we value your feedback and will continue striving to improve and provide all our guests with professional and thoughtful service.
