Your journey begins with a coastal pickup before heading into the lush hinterland, first stopping in dairy-rich Maleny to savour a selection of artisan cheeses and pick a unique chocolate sample. Next, take in the breathtaking views of the Glass House Mountains, a National Heritage site, followed by a visit to Gerrard’s Lookout. Then, enjoy a delightful two-course lakeside lunch at Secrets on the Lake, complemented by a wine tasting at Flame Hill Vineyard (Fridays & Sundays) or two glasses of wine with lunch (Tuesdays). The journey continues to the picturesque village of Montville, where you’ll have time to browse charming boutiques and discover local artisan crafts in the fresh mountain air. Your day concludes with a scenic drive back, stopping at Mapleton Falls Lookout before returning to your Sunshine Coast and Noosa accommodation—enriched by a day of scenic beauty, fine flavours, and unforgettable experiences.

Discover the Glass House Mountains from Mary Cairncross Begin your journey at the serene Mary Cairncross in Maleny, nestled on the picturesque Mountain View Rd. Here, you'll be treated to a stunning eastward view from the Blackall Range, overlooking the breathtaking National Heritage-listed Glass House Mountains. This majestic panorama offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquillity.
Our next stop is Maleny a picture-postcard dairy country town. Located 436 m above sea-level on the southern edge of the Blackall Range Maleny attracts painters, craftspeople and potters. During this time, you will enjoy cheese tasting and explore the town at your leisure.
Enjoy an authentic cheese experience, sampling a selection of the finest Australian and international cheeses crafted by artisan cheesemakers. Your tasting board will feature a variety of cheeses accompanied by condiments like quince jam, baby pickles, figs, muscatels, dried fruit, and crusty sourdough. This destination is renowned for offering a vast selection of over 250 cheeses.
Hand-select a delightful Chocolate gift pack to take home, you’ll also have the opportunity to savour timeless favourites. Maleny Chocolate Co’s expert team will offer insights into what makes their chocolates truly exceptional.
Your gourmet lunch will be at Secrets on the Lake which is set in the rainforest on the side of Lake Baroon. a popular foodie destination near Montville enjoying panoramic views of Lake Baroon
Friday & Sunday: Enjoy a delightful stop at Fernhill Winery, where you’ll indulge in a guided wine tasting experience, sampling a selection of locally crafted wines. Tuesday: While winery visits aren’t available, you’ll still savor the region’s flavors with two glasses of wine included with your lunch, ensuring a complete culinary experience.
When we arrive at the Hinterland Village of Montville and following wine tasting, you can spend free time checking out the delightful shops and boutiques, enjoying this picture-postcard village and its fresh mountain air.
Your last stop is the stunning Mapleton Falls Lookout which in on the Blackall Range looking across the Obi Obi Valley.

Great day out with Rob our driver/tour guide. Maleny cheese was our first stop followed by tasting at Maleny Chocolate co We were given free time to wander Maleny shops which was good. Lunch at Secrets On The Lake was delicious. Wine tasting at Flame Hill was next. Stop at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and Mapleton falls finished the day.

Interesting experience to sleep underground. Room was spacious and ceiling height better than expected - bathroom very small. Staff helpful in providing dining suggestions.

We did a second tour today with Dave to the Hinterland. We had a fabulous day. The cheese tasting, lunch at Secrets on the lake and looking through the towns of Maleny and Montville was absolutely brilliant. Dave is a fantastic driver. Very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. We visited several lookouts and the views are spectacular. I would like to say this tour is very worthwhile and would highly recommend it. Dave, our driver and guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The bus was comfortable and Dave was more than happy to stop along the way if anyone had a special interest in a particular area. Our lunch at Secrets By The Lake was superb. The cheese and chocolate tastings were delicious also. I would recommend it to anyone, whether in a group or by yourself.
