We had a great tour with many animal sightings. Initially, it rained heavily at times, but because of that, we were able to see many animals (frogs, snakes, scorpions, birds, and many others). The tour is really well planned and the length was perfect. At the beginning, we had a very delicious coffee at the first viewpoint. The guide and the staff member were super friendly, and we felt safe at all times while receiving a lot of information about Monteverde. We can recommend the tour to everyone, even in heavy rain! (Rubber boots and rain ponchos are worth their weight in gold here)
I took a night tour with my partner in May 2026. Jorge guided us, and it was a 10/10 experience, highly recommended. You can tell that Jorge loves nature, and he is an experienced guide. Thanks to Jorge and a bit of luck, we were able to see wildlife that is often difficult to spot. Towards the end of the tour, Donald joined us, who is quite an expert, and we discovered even more animals. Incredible experience; we enjoyed it as much as Jorge did. You can tell that a lot of care goes into preserving the reserve; it is a very nice initiative. I cannot stop recommending it again.

This is a wonderful, family-run reserve! It says a lot that two different guides told us it was there favorite place to lead tours. The night tour began with a short walk to an observation tower to watch the sunset and where they serve you coffee and a cookie. Very nice! Our guide, Donald Torres, was truly exceptional. We have learned that it is really worth the money to hire a guide at a reserve because you see so much more. Mr. Torres is very qualified and really knows both the flora and fauna. His enthusiasm is contagious!
Wow!!! Spectacular night tour!!! Jorge (our tour guide) was very punctual, attentive and organized. His personality was warm, welcoming, and friendly. My husband and I were very impressed by his knowledge of forest nightlife. What an adventure! Would utterly recommend this tour company to all. Thank you for a memorable experience!

Donald is very, very experienced and is almost possessed (positive) fanatic about his work/passion. That makes for an incredible experience! Tarantulas, snakes, frogs, explanations about the 3 (!!) different banana plants 🤔, it doesn’t matter!

Excellent experience, Jorge gave me a personalized tour just for me which I really enjoyed. My first experience in night walking and it was worth it. I totally lost my fear of being in the woods at night. And we managed to see several species of little animals ☀️

Donald was our tour guide and the experience was fantastic. It started with watching a beautiful sunset with tea and cookies from Dinia, followed by 1.5-2 hours of walking through the forest. Donald is incredibly knowledgeable as an ecology professor! We saw a mom and baby sloth, three different snakes (two different vipers and two coral snakes), a couple of cool birds, scorpions, a tarantula, a frog, lizards, and a butterfly 🦋! An incredible experience!!! A must if you’re coming to Monteverde!!!!!
Donald and Donia introduced us to the prime night forest with all these little animals that can only be seen during night outings. Fantastic moment of discovery safely even though we met some snakes and other batracians always kept at bay.
An experience that we must all live and what better way than to do it with people who know, care and love nature! We did the tour with our guide Donald and it was definitely worth every step that was taken on that hike, if you want to live an enriching experience in all aspects make the tour. Always remember to be attentive to Donald’s instructions and you will live truly unforgettable experiences from sunset to each of the tour trails where we could observe different species of animals some of them endemic to Costa Rica as was the orange kneeling tarantula and the red-eyed frog among other species of fauna, I can not say that it was better if the sunset or tour the trails at night because in reality both were spectacular And definitely I'd go back to the tour, Donald you're great, thank you for being our guide.
