This was a good pick for a family outing. There was enough variety to keep everyone engaged, from younger kids to adults. Breaks were well-timed and nothing felt too demanding. It’s not overly flashy, but it’s thoughtfully put together.
We weren’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a solid choice. The guide shared interesting details without going too deep, which kept things easy to follow. It felt more like exploring with a knowledgeable friend than being on a formal tour.
We liked how this trip avoided feeling rushed or crowded. The schedule allowed time to pause and take in the surroundings. The guide’s explanations added context without dominating the experience. It was simple but well done.
This isn’t the kind of tour that tries too hard to impress, which I actually liked. It felt genuine and easy to follow. The guide was approachable, and the overall experience was steady and enjoyable without being overwhelming.
This experience struck a nice balance between guided insight and personal time. We appreciated not feeling pushed from one place to another. The guide shared useful context but left space for us to take things in at our own pace. It felt like a calm, meaningful way to explore rather than a checklist of sights.
Our tour guide taught us more about himself and his hobbies rather than where we were visiting. I know this sounds brutal and he was a nice guy but he talked a lot about his honey business which is fantastic for him, but I didn't go on a tour to hear about this. I was not alone in being mildly annoyed. It also stated it was pick up from port which you would assume that this meant transfer back, however we were left in Old Town and shown the way to walk. Some of the people elderly and stressed about getting back to the boat and we shared an uber which was much easier, however annoying all the same.
Thank you for your feedback. Let me address the concerns raised: 1. All our guides are fully licensed and certified. They serve thousands of cruise passengers each season and are trained to share not only historical facts but also insights into the everyday life of locals — including fun details about salaries, homes, and hobbies like beekeeping and Sweden’s famous honey! 2. Please don’t refer to others, as yours was the only complaint received from the entire group. 3. Regarding the return transfer — your fellow cruisers asked to spend more time in the city and didn’t mind a short 10-minute walk back. We offered everyone the choice: return to the ship immediately or enjoy extra time in town. You chose the latter, which was completely fine — but we couldn’t offer both options at once. Safe and happy travels!
Our guide, Katarina, was one of the best guides we have had! She was waiting for us when we stepped off the cruise ship. Since the Vasa museum is huge it was so helpful to have a knowledgeable guide. She knew every corner and took us to see the highlights. On the drive to the museum and to Old Town she pointed out various sights while explaining the history and culture of the area. We drove to several of the islands and I feel we had a great and thorough overview of the city. We had one person with a cane on the tour and Katarina was aware of her limitations and would drop us off close to the sight, go park, then pick us up. This tour gives you a comprehensive view of this wonderful city with a friendly and well informed guide.
Kate was very knowledgeable and efficient as she guided us through the streets and sites, making the most of our limited time to learn about Sweden’s history while seeing Stockholm’s highlights . She educated us with confidence and humor when appropriate. She made sure we understood and that she answered all of our questions. She loves her city and helped us love it as well. Also, Mark was the perfect driver and gave us additional insights as we asked him questions. When asked, he shared his knowledge and talents willingly and with enthusiasm. They gave us an excellent tour that we can highly recommend to others who want to see as many highlight of Stockholm as possible in half a day.
Meeting point not clear and should say go right after security point for approx 100 metres, tour was disjointed and you cannot combine a 2 hour tour, walking tour with a 5 hour tour. We missed the 1 hour free time in the old town and had no time for shopping there. At times instructions information could not be heard. Overall we saw the itinerary sights but not in the order shown which had to be adjusted to suit the shorter tours.
To avoid delaying the entire group, we strongly recommend reviewing the pickup instructions sent to your email in advance, rather than relying on the approximate location of the cruise terminal as marked on Google Maps on this website. We regret to hear that you were unable to follow the group due to limited walking ability. Please note that the tour description clearly informs guests of this restriction. The description also states: “Please note that the sequence of the tour itinerary and the time spent at each location might be adjusted in response to variables like traffic conditions, crowd sizes, and unforeseen events. However, we will do our best to cover all the sites mentioned in the itinerary.” For future bookings through Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour description and itinerary rather than personal assumptions or preferred pacing.
At best an average excursion experience due to lack of narration and leadership skills of the tour guide. We drove by many historical and interesting sites with little/no explanation of what we were seeing — same thing in Vasa museum and old town walking tour. Guide and van driver were not coordinated on the route so came across as uncoordinated. Stockholm is a beautiful city but the tour was underwhelming and not a good value.
We’re sorry to hear about your disappointment. However, according to our team, it appears the main source of dissatisfaction stemmed from an expectation of a private tour. Please note that our private tours are clearly labeled as such in the title and are typically at least twice the price of shared group tours. Safe travels
