Itinerary

St Mark's Basilica stands in St Mark's Square like a treasure guarded by the sea and time. Its domes seem to float in the air, illuminated by the sun that caresses them, while the façade opens like a book of stone and gold, decorated with arches, columns of precious marble and mosaics that tell ancient stories. Upon entering, you are enveloped in a golden light: thousands of mosaic tiles cover the vaults and domes, transforming the space into a boundless sky, where saints and angels shine among the shadows. Every step echoes in the dim light, amid the scent of incense and a silence laden with centuries. In the centre, the Pala d'Oro shines like a heavenly altar, embroidered with gems and Byzantine enamels, the silent guardian of the devotion and wealth of the Serenissima. St Mark's is not just a basilica: it is a dream of light and stone, a bridge between East and West, the beating heart of Venice that still today tells of the grandeur and mystery of the lagoon city.

We are not told everything…

I will not speak of the site, which is exceptional, but it is disappointing regarding what is sold to you. A guide that you cannot hear and not very interesting remarks about the content when you stick close to her… the visit stops on the ground floor even if you take options (terrace). Finally, a QR code to download to read the story is not an audio guide, especially when there is no network inside… in short, disappointed with this organization; we could have just bought the tickets, which would have been much cheaper for the same result.

Poorly organised.

Poorly organised. On a rainy day, I arrived and was told we would have to wait an additional 45minutes past the indicated start time with my partner and 4yr old daughter. Once we got our ticket, we were then escorted in, the ticket did not work and had to wait an additional 30minutes, again in the rain. Due to the organiser not buying the correct timing tickets. The basilica itself is amazing and the guide who took us through was knowledgeable and kind and annoyed with the organiser as we were.

Taking a much money for nearly nothing

hey should be aware that they pay extra 20 Euro for ticket worth 12 Euro ( the price you pay at the cathedral). Ther guide just help you to skip the line , which was not log at all, and then lives you on your own with a video guide. And that price was for part of the ground floor that does not include the main atrzctions.....

Great time

Arrived and received vouchers, no issues. I was disappointed that the recorded tour was a download on your own phone.

Worst company ever

Worst online booking option ever. 1) tickets are sold only from the chutch2) victor buys up all so you can not buy direct. 3) when you go online seeking a specific availability they change the dates on you and if you are not extremely carful they sell you the wrong date. Lastly the “audio tour” is an app they have you download. No real expert to walk you through.

A disappointing visit to St Marks basilica

For our first experience in Venice, this tour was disappointing. Although skipping the queue had its advantage, once inside the areas available were restricted, crowded and (as we later found out on another tour) typical of Venice, dark. We would have learned more about the basilica, seen more of its interior and been less crowded had we simply bought tickets for access and read our guide book.

Disappointing Tour

The guide didn't show. It took 30 minutes for them to find a replacement. He ran off the moment we got thru the entry, not explaining anything. I did not enjoy this encounter. Usually we love Viator.

Worth a visit beware of price

Over priced. Paid 104 euro for 2 people and we were given a ticket which read 24 euro each, which didn't include some parts of the Bassilica. Not sure what the extra money was for however we did get a guide for the first 20 mins. Shop around before you buy tickets and make sure they include access all areas. Each part of the Bassilica has a different entry price which isn't made clear.
