Located in the charming and historic municipality of Marechal de Deodoro, Praia do Francês is one of the most beautiful and trendy on the south coast of the State of Alagoas, the waters vary in color, from turquoise to dark green. The beach offers two types of seas, one side is protected by a coral reef, forming a beautiful and extensive natural pool that captivates its visitors to an attractive sea bath, while the other side is the part frequented by surfers from all over Brazil because it offers big and tubular waves in its day.
And to enjoy the local delicacies, the Tropical Restaurant has an excellent infrastructure with a privileged view of the seafront and offers a varied menu with delicious typical regional dishes. (lunch not included).
It was opened on September 3, 1981, with the purpose of preserving the state's audiovisual heritage.
Dom Pedro II Square, located in the central region of Maceió, has had several names over the years, such as Pelourinho Square, Treasury Square, Cathedral Square, Assembly Square. There, the bust of Emperor Dom Pedro II rises. The square is surrounded by buildings, such as the Public Library, the Legislative Assembly, the Ministry of Finance and the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Today Praça dos Martírios is called Marechal Floriano Peixoto, in honor of the second republican president of Brazil, a native of Alagoas. This square is very important for its capital Maceió because in its surroundings are the Floriano Peixoto Palace, former headquarters of the state government, the eclectic Church of the Martyrs, the Palace of the Eagles, where the Pierre Chalita Museum of Sacred Art works, in addition to other buildings which are the headquarters of public offices, such as the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and the State Secretariat of Tourism. These are buildings that are part of the architectural complex of Martírios, listed as State Heritage.
The tour also offers a visit to the rich and beautiful handcrafted work of local artists at the Pavilhão do Artesanato, located on Pajuçara Beach.

Wonderful walk, beautiful beach, walk to the center just and necessary. The very loving guide, we got lost and waited for us very patiently. I recommend taking the boat ride.

The guide Firmino was very friendly and explained a lot about the city and the state throughout the tour (the initial part travels through some famous points of the city). I will give 3 stars due to the dissatisfaction with the optional tour offered during the journey to the beach. In the words of the guide himself: the tour would begin at 12h, with a duration of 1h40, in a catamaran with a transparent floor to see the fish, water at your disposal and snorkel for diving in a natural pool. In practice, it was nothing like this: we left only at 12:40, the transparent floor was tiny and restricted to very few passengers, the sea was very agitated and the place of diving too, so that only two people entered the water and one of them was injured. This option cost R$60 per Cover and, despite understanding that it is not possible to control the conditions of the sea, it lacked greater care from the operator — such as offering some discount or courtesy — to compensate for the general disappointment, since virtually all participants of the tour were complaining. Anyway, the rest of the tour is worth it, just stay away from this optional one.

The sea is beautiful but lack structure, has no place with a shower and seems to have stopped in time in relation to the evolution in tourism... had gone a few years ago and had no improvement... what a pity. But the beach is warm and clear water very clear.

The beach is simply wonderful. Clean sandy, clear and calm sea in the morning, after 12:00 there are already strong waves!
